Dim question from a clubcard newbie: I'm saving up for Legoland vouchers for the family, missed the target in the latest statement but will get there in the next one. I have some vouchers that are going to expire in Feb and March so I thought I'd get Pizza Express tokens with them. Here's the dim bit: will the oldest vouchers automatically be used when I buy the Pizza Express tokens on line? I'm sure they must be but I wanted to check before clicking. :o

No, you need to enter the code of the vouchers you want to use.

If the only reason you're using them is because they're going to expire, you could send them back to CC to have the value re-credited to your account, as long as you do it while they're still valid.

  • Hi

I received my Clubcard Statement this morning.

Actually, I have two CCs, this is the one for the Tesco credit card.

I don't spend much so I only had £1.50 in Vouchers.

However, instead of six coupons that normally state
"spend £3 on dairy and get 40 Tesco points" or
"spend £1 on cleaning products and get 25 Tesco points"
all the coupons were for third parties such the RAC etc. none of which are useful or desirable for me.

I rang the CC helpline and was fobbed off with
    "It's a marketing decision."

I emailed them via the Clubcard website to register my displeasure.

I did point out that the clubcard points coupons were an incentive for me to shop in Tesco...

Has anyone else 'lost' their clubcard points coupons?

Does anyone think, or know, whether it's because I spend so little.

I am awaiting my 'normal' Clubcard Statement with trepidation.
    Wow, lots of space here!

    Queen.for.a.day:

    1) Promotional vouchers are not guarranted - not everyone gets them.

    2) CC didn't 'fob you off' - it is a 'marketing decision'.

    3) Perhaps, as you said that you didn't use the 'card' that much there wasn't enough info - to use to target you with any 'promotions'.
I used to work for Tesco - now retired - speciality Clubcard

All of your points might be valid; however, as this is the first time it's happened in all the years I've had a Clubcard, it seems a 'marketing decision' designed to send me toward Tesco's rivals.

  • I've just been called by Tesco to apologise for, well what?

They said they were sorry that I was unhappy with the promotional coupons, but re-iterated it was a marketing decision.

I made my point that I would now be looking to ASDA to see how they compare to Tesco.
    Wow, lots of space here!

Asda AFAIK don't offer a loyalty card.
