I just logged into JD Williams - limit gone up again to 300 (nice started at 125)......

HSBC said that their card services team cannot view savings accounts but in case of query they would ring through to the account holding branch for verification if they used this as part of any assessment.

I guess that she means that if they declined me a CC then I said I have 50 grand in the bank that they'd reconsider as the branch would confirm it was true. She then went on to say if that was the case then she'd recommend applying in the branch as they'd 'force it through'.....

The personal bankers have more power than we think. They can override decsions depending on the decline code

Yes, HSBC seem unique in thay can do certain things - like when my account got opened, they knew it wasn't me that committed ID fraud - they aint daft!

Anyway, suffice to say that it's worth building up rapport with someone in your local branch cos they will soon start to offer you stuff when they have sales targets that 'have' to be met at the month end - they 'can' force through loans and CC's I guess - cool.... i'm gonna go chat my branch manager up - she is like ready for retirement but I guess she'd be experienced (yummy [strike]mummy[/strike] grandmummy LOL)

I get on with "Lucy" at my local branch, she is the manager and I have been told that she has high access on her username
