There's a big potential debate about whether a product is "safer" left on the shelves in Boots, with all and sundry able to open it up and test it - or hidden away in the dark in a cupboard at home. When the TD offer was on, I was amazed to see how dusty and filthy some of the shelves at one Boots branch were. Nowhere in my home is that dirty. And that was on the shopfloor, so I wondered what condition the stockroom must be in...
I've done external audit work in the past and the condition some high profile companies keep their stock in is just shocking. I used to see very posh £2000 settee's covered in plastic and used for the smokers to sit down on in the warehouse, before being sent into the showroom!
As for the separate argument about the morality of screwing Boots for every penny I can - No, don't care one bit, as long as it's legal. Boots have screwed their customers with inflated prices for decades, we're just getting some back now.
The question of "Do we have the moral right?" would rarely be heard in any successful boardroom. "Can we get away it" and "Will the customer pay it" are more relevant topics.
But I appreciate everyone has a different moral viewpoint. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

Customer services told me that skincare is classed as a "beauty product" and therefore suitable for a return if you "change your mind".This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
I agree with the returning stuff comments, but if you will use all the stuff I dont see why you shouldn't use the loopholes, I got 12 EI handwashes and have never used it before but now use it all the time!
-did feel bad cos the SA made a mistake and took £10 off a different sale as 'voucher' when i hadn't given one, though she might get into trouble, but couldn't bring myself to go back....
welsh dragons right though - it's only a good deal if you will use it!Best Threads -

welsh dragons right though - it's only a good deal if you will use it!I'm also a minimalist and can't abide clutter. So could never have too much stuff as it would drive me mad! The most I ever had was 2 shoeboxes full of Cucumber/FF skincare products which took me 18 months to use and give away to family.
I think the old "Toe Separators" loophole (going back a bit!) was a good example of buying something for the points when you couldn't possibly ever use them.
At the moment my stash (including TD) is up to 3 shoeboxes full although that includes all my Mother's Day gifts. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Quick question - Having recently got into regularly using Hand & Nail cream thanks to the lovely TD
, is there a Handcream of equal or better quality for less than the cost of TD (ie £5 for 50ml)?
Also, I've seen people going on about an Olay handcream free with the new £5 skincare voucher - is this any good (again especially in comparison to TD).

For all those trying to give up smoking. Boots NicAsist 2mg gum 105 pieces SEL £13.99 buy one get one half price so should have cost £20.99 scanned at £7.98. Nice SA let me use "Change One Thing" voucher for 25% off bought it down to £6.98???. Tried to bump it up by picking up 2 Soltan Kids Set reduced to £2.49 to get my £5 voucher to find the sets are BOGOF so SA waited while I picked up another 2 sets. Total cost £11.96 for 4 Soltan sets and 2 x 105 chewing gums plus a free Time Delay Clarifying Facewash.0

Went shopping today and the Jamie Oliver cook set was still £10, checked out by the SA. Plenty of EI but no voucher on my son's card. I forgot how the mens vouchers worked and so left it in case I got my knickers in a twist:D . My son got spend £25 get 200 points whilst I got spend £40 get 150! Needless to say I didn't use that. There was also a 100 points for 17 new foundations but not sure if this will work for all 17 goods. None of the christmas items they have had out all the time have been reduced at all. Still it was nice to just walk around and see what was what and come out empty handed. They didn't have what I wanted:rolleyes: (Clarins item).
I did ask the SA why different stores in the country had different prices i.e. Jamie Oliver items and she said it depends on how much stock the store has which determines how items are reduced.0 -
