But you'll mislead other people into expecting an improvement that cable can't give. Next you'll be suggesting "gold-plated connectors". The cable between the aerial and the Freeview box will cause picture "breakup" and "artifacts" if it affects the signal adversely. It will never affect the Freeview picture quality because the Freeview receiver automatically rebuilds a perfect picture.

Now the RF OUTPUT cable carries an analogue signal so it CAN affect the picture quality.

I agree with all of that, I think all of this nonsense about expensive cables having an effect on picture quality on Freeview is utter tosh spooled out by the companies with a lucrative and vested interest.

I can't say I know for sure if it will make a difference, but AlienRik seems pretty switched on when it comes to techie stuff so I have no reason to not believe what he is saying.

    Classic

    It looked MORE 3 dimensional
And if you think 2d pictures cant look 3d you should come see my Pioneer tv (Or my dads which is incredible)
    Technically its 'depth of field'

Look mate. I fully understand 'digital'cables and the cliff effect. And various 'tests' that have been done.

Ive also done my own tests (As have others), with various cables (mains, hdmi, phonos etc)

Im no !!!!!! when it comes to cables, so please dont treat me as one. If you wish to believe theres no difference thats fine.
Just dont bother me with it or tell me im wrong.

    :rotfl:

This has got to be one of your best posts to date (for giving any real techies a good laugh) as it proves that you simply don't know what you are talking about!

Wasnt it you that said that mains cables make no difference which HAS been proven otherwise? ;)

Im under the belief that your one of those that scours the internet and believe everything you read and thats that. Not doing any ACTUAL tests yourself (A sheep if you will)

You can laugh but ask ERIK what formal qualifications he has that make him the 'technical expert' that you seem to think he is?

What are you 'qualified' as sheep?

(Also, bare in mind, just because someones 'qualified' does NOT actually mean theyre any good at it ;))
