don't run away, it's important. I don't think Sarah was being sharp - just pointing something out.
Neither was i being sharp - just asking.

serious question - nicely ok? - what are you suggesting exactly, what is it that has actually happened and who are they going to write to on the basis of 'builder told me'.

I ask, genuinely - because none of us know?

Back again, Sorry to all, It came over sharp but maybe i was being a bit oversensitive. the OP had got a parking ticket (he said can we make a claim and presumed he meant can we appeal)
because he had overstayed 8 or 9 minutes and I assumed automatically that it was a council one, which yes i shouldnt have done, i forgot al about non council ones being unenforceable so was wrong again in my rush to help.
So let's start again from scratch :o

No problem. i see you intended well.

the message Sarah, Bargepole and myself were trying to give the OP was that a lot more info is needed in order to be able to help. Maybe they'll get that message.

it probably was a Council ticket but which Council, which legislation, the particular circumstances, the alleged contravention, the signage and the document itself are all crucial info.

    Ok?

who has been extremely kind in her reply to me. I would agree that though some people are trying to be helpful they are "sharp". anyway the ticket is from london borough of hounslow and he was still writing it up as we were in front of the car and a few minutes over. just wondered if there was now a new law about this as did remember that there was talk about something like this on tv. any help greatly appreciated and hope to help back for any tips. thanks

OP, can you post all of the ticket (that's all of it - including the back), so it can be checked, please. Although I suspect Neil B will be au fait with Hounslow's tickets, it's still useful to have a look, as it might not be right.

    Thank you.

It's like pulling teeth trying to get info about this ticket. What you need to do do is scan and post ALL (that's as in ALL - front AND back) of the ticket, blank out personal details, and post it on here.

There may well be grounds for appeal if the ticket is non-compliant in, for example, the wording of the timescale for paying, or the list of grounds for appeal, but if you don't show it we can't help.

I have been providing assistance, including Lay Representation at Court hearings (current score: won 57, lost 14), to defendants in parking cases for over 5 years. I have an LLB (Hons) degree, and have a Graduate Diploma in Civil Litigation from CILEx. However, any advice given on these forums by me is NOT formal legal advice, and I accept no liability for its accuracy.
