partner got to the car8/9 mns over the ticket time..

in Parking tickets, fines & parking
can we make any claim at all or is this limited to 5 mns over (think a builder mentioned to us). thanks for any advice.

    Sorry, can't advise on this one, crystal ball's on the blink ...

    Has the OP told you what kind of ticket this is?

    OP - is this a council or a private ticket?

    If council, which one?

    What exactly would you write in an appeal then?

    its in the OP's header, a parking ticket which he got just after being a few minutes late back to his car

    I've had tickets in Westminster where I was over by 2 minutes and the Traffic Warden was long gone.

    Who is the parking ticket from though? And is it valid? You DO realise that that makes all the difference? If not, what are you doing handing out advice?

    Dont ask me, ask the op, i was handing out advice because the other poster asked for it. Why are you being so sharp? Why are you having a pop at other posters trying to help instead of helping the OP . I will now beat a sharp retreat because i dont wish to have to put up with people like you.

    The whole point of asking for advice re parking tickets is because people want to know what to do about them, ie what the legalities are. They require factual advice from people who know about this kind of thing. Giving opinions, and presenting those opinions as fact, while well meaning, is of no help at all.

    The OP needs to come back and tell us who the ticket is from. We cannot advise until we have this info. I have tried to help by asking for this information.

    don't run away, it's important. I don't think Sarah was being sharp - just pointing something out.
    Neither was i being sharp - just asking.

    serious question - nicely ok? - what are you suggesting exactly, what is it that has actually happened and who are they going to write to on the basis of 'builder told me'.

    I ask, genuinely - because none of us know?
