Can I ask what words you would use to describe yourself? How do you think the mainly silent majority of board members on here see you?
Hey don't just pick on Desert Orchid, there are 31 other people on the board that agree with him  probably a few sock puppets in there though'Just think for a moment what a prospect that is. some lefties will think I am stupid, racist, homophobe, zenophobe, claustraphobe, or whatever idiotic nonsense they are shouting about - remember, the empty can rattles the most.
others will think I speak the truth.
some will think somewhere inbetween.
what is the point of your post?

I can tell you that there are very few mother and baby units around the country. They are only usually used for young mums with mental illnesses who need the extra support. A girl I was in a psychiatric unit with a few months ago tried desperately to get into one but they couldn't find one with any space. So in the end they made the decision to take her baby off her instead. Trust me, there are nowhere near enough places to deal with all the teen mums in this country.
See, I said I didn't know much about them!
I still can't see a 15 year old child being given a home on their own with a young baby, there must be some sort of adult supervision involved. We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.

I always thought that people were jealous of people up the food chain not down it, odd.'Just think for a moment what a prospect that is. Not only that but sharing it with another 15yo lad and expecting another, no way 'Just think for a moment what a prospect that is. You represent the vast majority of people in society.
Mr White Horse has seen the small minority of people that are a blight on our society and, probably because he isn't very intelligent, has grouped everyone he doesn't like in to his image.
Don't feel guilty about getting support from people in society who are lucky anough not to suffer from the same things as you. It's the sign of a civilised and caring society and no one would begrudge you a penny.
i don't think he represents the vast majority of people in society on any level.0 -
Depends whether they think they're feeding them.
It must be me I see them as unfortunate, even the scroungers.'Just think for a moment what a prospect that is. That made me cry, thank you. I know Im not the only one who has tried again and again to work and failed, believe me I feel a lesser person for it. The current economic climate is scary for me too in case they make benefit cuts, if I cant pay my lady I dont get my prescriptions delivered which means I become very mentally and physically ill. I just dont want people to think that all benefit claimants are out for all we can get, some of us are very grateful that benefits mean we can still be here and thats enough.
you are the exception to the rule. you should feel proud.0 -
Thank you The_White_Horse
Believe me I know there are people who take advantage of the system out there so I do understand how you see things and it must make people who work every day want to tear their hair out. Its frustrating for people like me too because it feels like we all get put under the same umbrella. If I could not be ill and work I would gladly pay back every penny of benefit Ive ever received, it would be more than worth it to feel ok again.
casleigh, although it may not seem like it, most people do know the different types of human situations that exist. Those that don't appear to either just enjoy their own prejudices or are simply unworldly.
Either way, try not to take it to heart.0
