A few weeks back, after phoning Sky to get a reduction for 3 months by threatening to leave, I decided to see what Telewest would offer if I threatened to cancel.
So I did a bit of research and found Bulldog offering up to 8Mb broadband for £9.75 for the first six months and quoted this offer to Telewest. The nice chap immediately offered to match it!!!! So I am currently paying £20.25 for my phone line, Broadband and the basic TV package (I am getting the TV for free for a year after threatening to cancel that last August).
I case you are wondering - yes I do have both Sky and Telewest TV - that is why I was canceling the Telewest in August - but if they what me to keep it for a year free of charge I won't complain.
I firmly believe that if you find a Broadband supplier that is reliable, why not see if they will match the offers of some more restricted suppliers, resulting in a win win situation.
My next challenge is, tonight I noticed that Bulldog are offering the £9.75 deal for the life of the contract (if ordered by 15th Feb). So tommorow I will be on the phone to Telewest asking for this offer to be matched or I am cancelling (yet again!!!).
I will report back on how I got on.0 -
Telewest at first does look very attractive but over the last few month we have done a fair bit of extensive research into all of this, eg bundles and deals with various phone/tv/net packages.
Telewest phone calls are very expensive, all of these call charges are in addition to your £30.00 per month bundle cost - 6p connection charge on the £30 bundle then calls per minute are pretty high after that. Not so easy using services like 1899 etc. Remember this bundle goes up after 12 months this price is not forever.
The Cable TV serivce is fine if it's waht you are after but in all fairness freeview has just as much to offer these days, I have gained an amazing service from combining Freeview with a skysytem bought from the freeads papers we get shuved through our door, self instal in not hard.
Broadband you can shop around not being a big downloader or internet user I am on Virgin option 3 this with phone calls comes in at £30 a month yes the same as the bundle but this includes all my calls."Don't panic just chill out and smile"
