  • THAT LINK COULD HAVE JUST BE POSTED ON HERE
    BY A SCAM ARTIST

    My tickets have now arrived - no scams here!

    Please could someone else post when your tickets arrive too... I don't particularly like being pointed out as a scamster!

    Good point though about trust & worth noting generally, I guess.

    Thanks

    Can anyone post EXACTLY when it tells you the discount has been taken off? I got almost right to the end, there was a box called "discount code" or something that was pre-filled in with "first50". On the very next page after that was the form for credit card input - but the amount was still the full amount. Didn't want to click through that as well then find I paid full whack.

    I do understand the offer is only for some types of saver tickets, but how the *&^% do you tell what kind of ticket it thinks it is selling you? It just asked me to specify train times and so on, nothing about what flavour of ticket I was getting. I don't care whether it is supersaver or digital stereo so long as it is CHEAP, to be honest their site was winding me up.

    BTW do not bother phoning their help desk, I got a lady in another country whose answer to all my questions was "ah the internet is busy right now, try again later."

    thanks very much for this, just booked it and it worked fine, saver return from nottingham to kent and back for £15.13 :D

    also remember even though it doesnt let you select dates after 3rd of jan if you buy a saver return then you have 1 month from the start of the journey to return, u just say the return will be on 3rd jan but it doesnt actually have to be, as long as its within 1 month from the outbound journey date :)
  • Important points are 5 & 13 see below...

    ENTIRE PROCESS:

    1. Click on the link in my original mailing.

    2. Journey Planning - enter your details. If returning after 3rd Jan, leave the return box as "UNDECIDED" This will give you a valid return date of up to one month after your outward journey.

    3. Station confirmation with the prompt "Please select from list" (NB You may skip straight to stage 4 if it works out which unique stations you require)

    4. Your Timetable - choose the number of adult and child tickets required. Choose any railcards you hold.

    5. Journey Selection - select your preferred outward train (and return train if you had specified one before 3rd January) The range of tickets will appear here - make sure you select a Saver Return, SuperSaver Return or a Cheap Day Return to get your 50% discount.

    6. Summary and Reservation

    7. Confirmation

    8. Ticket Terms and Conditions - again ensure that it displays the T&C for a Saver Return, SuperSaver Return or a Cheap Day Return to get your 50% discount.

    9. Login or register

    10. Login or registration confirmation

    11. Add Ticket to Basket

    12. Your Shopping Basket - discount will be applied on the next page when you click on "Purchase"

    13. Purchase - Discount will be shown in the green box at the top of the payment details section. If no discount is shown, you must make sure that you have followed the rules about selecting a Saver Return, SuperSaver Return or a Cheap Day Return and the dates of travel being before 3rd Jan.

    ======================================
    YOU WILL BE CHARGED WHEN YOU CLICK ON "PURCHASE" ON THIS PAGE - MAKE SURE YOUR DISCOUNT IS SHOWN ON THIS PAGE OR IT WILL NOT BE APPLIED.
    ======================================

    14. Purchase confirmation - your card will have been charged and confirmation emailed to you.

    no idea, try phoning up the station who could probably tell ya
  • Important points are 5 & 13 see below...

    ENTIRE PROCESS:

    Thank you sawanderer, I failed to do the ticket type selector properly. It is quite tricky with similar sounding ticket names e.g. Special Saver, Saver Special, bleh...

    2 Adults 2 kids Bracknell-Bristol return all for 29 quid, not bad I must say.
