We've got two that are about 5 feet tall by two feet across by 1 foot wide. They're very easy to put up and take down, even in a small space. It has enough horizontal slats to hang a fairly large load on, and also doubles as an indoor gym for the resident garden tiger (who fell in love with it on sight), although she is getting a bit too heavy for it now.
There are similar ones on page 1276 of the 'Greek' catalogue of dreams (home of the 7 figure reference numbers and the dinky plastic pens..)Surviving the ups and downs of life with DH

I use one thats like a inside whirly gig, you put your stuff on coat hangers and it dries really quickly.
Other than that I use the simple straight one, as I can get 2 loads of tee shirts/trousers on it, and all underwear socks go on a wee octupus guy from IKEA. This wee guy http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/80124638Feb GC £41.23/£90
Debt £0/£2140 (everything bar the mortgage). 16th Month 0% interest, ends May 2009.Mortgage - £54000Competitions won: Gu Chocolates (Jan n/r)

I will second the Minky 3 tier airer. Have only been married a year and a half and managed to go through 4 others airers (dont ask, they just kept bending and falling apart!) Dare I say this...........my minky has been on the go for 6 months and is as strong as ever!
L xoxoxIts hard to wait around for that something you know may never happen, but its harder to give up when you know its everything you ever wanted.........
People tell me Im going the wrong way..............when its simply a way of my own!0 -
I was given an old fashion wooden one and it does the job.Sarah, who is trying to make small changes :money:0

I bought a wooden one when my firstborn came along. He is now 25 this year and the cloths horse is still going strong.0

Another vote for the Minky one. I had an extremely expensive one that was more or less the same from Lakeland, and it didn't last me nearly as long as the price made me think it would lol
But I liked the shape of it (they can take a king sized duvet cover) and bought a couple of the Minky ones to replace it, and so far they're standing up well.
I've also got something similar to marri_lou's 'sock octopus' and I'd recommend one of those too, they're brilliant for socks, tights, bras etc. Much easier than trying to hang them on an airer.0 -

I've had so many concertina type ones go after taking jeans etc, this one is the ONLY one that I can use for all my washing, all winter.0 -

Is it like this?
Got given one as a wedding present in 1997, reckon it will last for years and years yet. My dad had one for years when I was a kid.0 -
I think it's down to luck lol, as I bought one of those wooden ones and it only lasted a few weeks before it cracked right through the bottom. I think it was from Argos.0
