And another £500 to make it £5500. Im determined to crack this problem once and for all even it means cutting my cloth to a few sizes smaller than we need. Its too stressful.

Yep im behind. I have paid £2.5k over the past few weeks. My total is now at £8k.

Anyone know of any rich benefactors?

and £3k takes it up to £15k so far. Half way.

And yes, they are still chasing me as I am being crippled by interest and surcharges the balance is not going down as quickly as it should.
I have to speak to them on Monday...I cant wait.

Whose target? Yours or HMRC? They are at least getting money off you (which is probably more than a lot of people right now).
Have you had a review of everything recently? I presume you are still squeezing every penny you can though?

I am squeezing every penny I can. It's very hard at the moment. I'm not working to live, I'm living to work and pay off the tax. Paying the tax in advance (which I have to do as I'm self employed) is very hard. Some people manage it very well. I can't. I have lots of responsibilities.

Well I've done 2k today which brings the total to 19500 this year. The HMRC are still after me. They keep calling me and asking for the world and threatening to sue me. I can't give them any more than I am. I'm fed up of talking to them.

I'm feeling very low at the moment and wish I could just end it all. But I have a family that needs me. My husband can't work cos of his illness. I have nowhere to go and no one to ask for help.

I need to get a grip. The situation is not going to change.
