I have just paid them another £2000.
My 12 months run with them to the 31st January - so far in the last 12 months i have paid them £22,750 in tax, and they are still moaning!!!

Im not straight and obviously my next payment on account is due at the end of the month - i dont have it needless to say. But i am getting more organised with my money. I am trying to get to grips with the cashflow issues that come with working almost solely for local or national government. They always pay in their own good time. But i still have to pay tax on what i have billed, not what i have had in. They are not sympathetic.

One BIG plus is that both the Inland Revenue and the VAT now take Faster Payments - AT LONG LAST. That will save me money on interest etc.

Fingers crossed i can give them a bit more before the end of the month.

    Phew. Back to the treadmill.

Hope you are all ok xx

My first payment of the 2012 tax year has been made today - £1000.
Lets not think about how much I have to pay. I am a hamster on a wheel. This thread is the only way I can even deal with it cos it traumatises me too much. I'm hoping that my other half will get a job soon. We do not know how long he will be able to work for realistically as his neurological condition is still progressing. Fingers crossed he will have some time though to live as normally as he can.

Good luck for 2012 everyone and thank you so so much for your support.

I love you all, i really do.

One of things about being self employed is that you have to work really hard to keep on top of things and earn the money.

BUT the harder you work, the more you earn and the more you earn the more tax you pay and that means you spend your life chasing your tail.

I AM chasing my tail and juggling at the same time - yes we women can multi task. Its a bloody good thing too.

    Now where's my prozac? :o

Oh bless you, Lemma. You have sooo much strength. I'm sure it doesn't always feel like it, but you wouldn't have done so well if you hadn't. The concern over your OH's illness must have a huge impact on you too.

Thinking of you, keep going, we're all here xxx
