£150 to HMRC today total £14,750

Had some worrying news from them yesterday

"Warning Notice of Legal Proceedings":eek::eek:

I have kept up with the agreement and i have no real idea why they decide to do this to me every few months. I think they see all agreements as short term things and not until the debt has gone. I can't pay any more than i am. I feel slightly sick but they will be spoken to today.

I wonder if they realise how much stress and distress is incurred at times like this?

Oh well, i have survived up til now and i will survive this blip.

I suspect it just a computer generated thing I had a reminder yesterday about a tax return that I shouldn't have received in the first place. It is worrying though they are real barstewards and you have made such great progress - hope you get it sorted - they should be sending you a medal for all the consistent payments you have made :A

    OK, its like this.

I have been too efficient. I had my accountant file my tax return for Jan 2010 in July 09. I had my figures and i thought it would help me reduce my payments on account.

    Well it did. :j

BUT it also meant that something or other in their systems took a dislike to me for being ultra efficient for doing my tax return very early when i still owe HMRC money and so it spat out a letter to me saying i was going to be sued cos i still owed them money yet i had the audacity to send in my tax return for next year 6 months before it was actually due.

The woman on the other end of the phone said "its the nature of the beast"!!!

They have withdrawn it and will not contact me again until the end of January 2010. Their parting shot was:

"What arrangements are you making to ensure that your payment on account is paid on time in January 2010?"

I'm sorry but i'm doing my best. I am still in arrears and won't get this lot cleared off until the end of the year never mind Januarys paid on time.

I think i am losing the will to live.

How dare you tell them early how much you are going to owe them without making the payment early as well .

You are doing well and any court would laugh at them with the regular payments you are making if they tried to sue so just keep on as you are and you will get there and to be honest you are doing it quicker than they could reasonably expect - so s*d them and hope they keep to their word and leave you alone until end of Jan.

And tyou wonder why why peeps give up and throw the towel in, say sod it and go bankrupt. I really do not understand these people. No matter how hard you try they have a way of knocking you back down again. Stupid, stupid people. As Double Trouble says, if they sued i am sure they would be given a right royal telling off from the judge.
You know you are doing your best hun, dont let them drag you down. Not at this stage. x x x x x x x x x x x x

No sign of any money at all. I am going to have to have one of the fees clerks chase some money for me cos i am dead broke at the moment. Typical.

I know it will turnaround though.

    How are you getting on?

Same as you. Went away for a few days in August. Seem to have spent a fortune over the summer (necessary stuff and budgeted in the long term, but it has all come at once). Can't see that we're going to be able to make a mortgage overpayment this month, which is a pain as I don't want to lose the impetus.

To cap it all, DS has been lovely all summer, and has turned into a monster since he started back at school. Grumpy and backchatting. I know it's because he's tired but I'm losing patience! He'll be okay once he's in routine though. He spent a fair bit of time with my family over the summer and I think he's missing being at theirs. He never was that good at having just 24 hours in the day.

I've missed this over the last few days so wasn't aware of the crap thrown at you.
