What do you WANT to do???
I can only really tell you what I don't want to do.
I don't want to come home stressed out of my tree worrying about how may or may not have done something to upset someone. I don't want to be judged by some one who has 3 year teaching experience and tells me I am out dated and old fashioned.
I don't want to freak out and nearly burst in to tears when management come near me.
I want to spend time working on the kids work, designing resources, looking at ideas to help Special needs kids, I want to mark properly, set decent targets, not fill the book with nonsense just so some SMT can say its ok.
I remember when I started teaching I got such a kick out of designing things for the kids to do. I loved making resources. could spend hours HAPPILY doing it.
thank you all for letting me spill and thinkxxxxNevertheless she persisted.0 -

Why not look into developing course work/writing textbooks? Something like that?
What about working in a school for children with different needs?
If you don't mind asking, how much debt have you still got? Could you afford to move out? Why not look at teaching for a year or 2 abroad?Empty pockets never held anyone back, only empty heads and empty hearts can do that -Peale0 -

He had a great time Pooky-apparently the best snow conditions in 30 years? Waist deep powder and he snowboarded 'off piste' the entire time. (needless to say, not impressed by this point and then imagined him getting lost in avalanches etc. but he is home safe, and at work now!)
He also tried to convince me we should move to British Columbia. I told him to swing...Empty pockets never held anyone back, only empty heads and empty hearts can do that -Peale0 -

I teach History, media and Geography - don't really like teaching History much. I am looking into Supply and depending on pay cover supervisor positions.
Buffy - my local council website (in Essex ) has all sorts of links to do with teaching (returning to teaching (n/a in your case), supply teaching, teacher taster course (sounds dodgy))
Would it worth looking on your local council website, to see what's on offer.
Are there any special needs schools local to you ?
Just a few thoughts
ps. watch that lenny - he'll have signed up on HMS Beaver like a shot :rotfl:Don't Take Life too Seriously - Nobody gets out alive :rotfl:0
