    Hi all
Exam went quite well today I think, not sure when I get the results but I'll let you all know, thanks for the good thoughts!
I think i mentioned that I was looking at a new flat, well I was told by the woman to ring back at the end of january, rang today and was told she's on holiday but they don't think the flat that was going to avaliable mid-late feb will be available til mid-march, and we can't view it til mid-february. So I have no idea what is happening now. Grrr.

I think we're in for some unusual weather.

Some of you know I only have half a house - the bottom half. From the outside, it looks like one house - i.e. there's the original front door. When you open it, you come into a porch area where there are two internal front doors - one going upstairs and one going into downstairs (mine). The outside porch door (and the inside ones) have the original single glazed edwardian glass.

When I got home this evening (I forgot to mention it - I should have done - it was flying!), the inside of the porch windows were completely steamed up. I have never seen this before. I went into mine and it was warmer than I expected it to be. I grumbled under my breath about DiL probably having had the central heating up on 25 all day before she went out to work this evening. Then I got some kitchen towel and went back to the porch and wiped all the condensation off the glass - meaning the windows got a clean at the same time!

I have just been back outside to put the kitchen recycle stuff in the bin and the windows are steamed up again! The heating certainly isn't up high (it's on about 17 degrees). So I take it all back what I thought about DiL earlier!

But, it must mean there's an unusual wind direction causing that part of the house to be much colder than normal thus causing the condensation.

In the almost 20 years I've owned this place, I have never seen that phenomenon! I wonder if we'll get snow this weekend!

    silly question time...

when you lot talk about 'shining your sinks', what exactly are you doing to them?

it's childish i know but our house is looking pretty d*mn good now and my mum's never said a word - when it's untidy the comments never stop! and if a shiny sink can get a mil's praise - well you never know:o

My definition of shining the sink:

    a) If it's the bathroom one, making sure all those little globs of toothpaste and the general soap stains and limescale are removed so the porcelain shines.
    b) If it's the stainless steel kitchen sink, making sure all the tea stains that appear with daily regularity on the bottom of the sink are cleaned off, the water marks are removed, along with the limescale (hard water in these 'ere parts) and everything shines!

You seem to be doing it right without noticing! Well done you! :T
