    98 things put away/in charity bag/in the bin, spare room starting to look like a room and there is a bit more room in the wardrobe so I can hang things up(that was my excuse for putting off the ironing!!!)

    Just noticed mudbath joined in, How did you do?
    I'm going to do a slight variation on this for the spare room tomorrow and see how much I can get rid of in the spare room in the hour,not just puuting away or tidying, but actually putting things in the bin!! I really need to stop hoarding!!!!

    AAAARRRRGGGGGHHHHHH!!!

    Why did I not know about this yesterday? I swapped £10 worth of 20p's for a £10 note.:mad::rolleyes: Story of my life I guess.

    Anyway on the flying front........umm........ummm....... I put 60 things in a box to go to the charity shop tomorrow and then put the box in the boot of my car. Just need to remeber to 'deliver it' tomorrow now:rolleyes:

    S & S the kitchen this morning and then, not a lot really. Sat down and read and slept for the rest of the day till 3.00pm. Disgraceful I know. I think I did too much at the weekend and tired myself out a bit. Plus Aunt Flo is due in the next few days and that makes me so, so tired anyway.
    Lots of flying going on on the thread though. Well done ladies:T

    Plan for this summer is to do something with the large sunken sandpit which the kids don't use anymore. It is surrounded by sleepers (I'll do a photo next week) so it would be hell to remove but I need ideas as to what to do with it. It could become a pond but I'm not mad about ponds and it would not be wildlife friendly as it would be a sheer drop in. Any ideas welcome.

    Ok so I did manage to get on here tonight - anyone got a carrot and coriander soup recipe? Was going to try and make some tonight if the tried and tested recipe arrives in time.

    Flying front since I've been home:

    Packed my lunch ready for tomorrow (I'm trying to be good, so it includes Tuna & light mayo sandwich on granary bread, an apple, 6 dried apricots, a small carrot, an activia yoghurt);
    Packed gym bag and put it in the boot of my car ready for after work;
    Emptied gym bag from yesterday and sorted washing into appropriate piles;
    Gathered up all of the dishes for washing up that I missed; and,
    Called charity hotline as charity bag still hasn't been collected and it's been out since 8.30am (apparently they collect up til 7pm so if it hasn't been collected by then, I have to call them tomorrow).

    Not bad for 45mins work.
    Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.

    A flavoursome vegetarian soup with fresh and ground coriander. Serve with cheese and onion bread for a warming supper or lunch. Ingredients
    1 tbsp vegetable oil
    1 onion, sliced
    450g/1lb carrots, sliced
    1 tsp ground coriander
    1.2 litresl/2 pints vegetable stock
    large bunch fresh coriander, roughly chopped
    salt and freshly ground black pepper

    Method
    1. Heat the oil in a large pan and add the onions and the carrots. Cook for 3-4 minutes until starting to soften.
    2. Stir in the ground coriander and season well. Cook for 1 minute.
    3. Add the vegetable stock and bring to the boil. Simmer until the vegetables are tender.
    4. Whizz with a hand blender or in a blender until smooth. Reheat in a clean pan, stir in the fresh coriander and serve.

    from the BBC web site is it of help to you? happy cooking, make enough for all flyladies as we are all coming round to taste test for you!! :rotfl:

    Then there is Delia:-
    This is a lovely soup to make with spring carrots that are not quite as sweet as those in the summer. Coriander is said to have the flavour of roasted orange peel, which makes the two perfect partners. Serve the soup with plenty of warm crusty bread.

    carrot-coriander-soup-26217.jpgServes 6
    Ingredients

    2 lb (900 g) carrots, peeled and chopped
    1 tablespoon coriander seeds
    1 oz (25 g) butter
    1 small clove garlic, crushed
    2 pints (1.2 litres) chicken or vegetable stock
    3 tablespoons chopped fresh coriander, plus 6 small sprigs, to garnish
    3 tablespoons crème fraîche
    salt and freshly ground black pepper

    Begin by dry-roasting the coriander seeds in a small frying pan over a medium heat, stirring and tossing them around for 1-2 minutes, or until they begin to look toasted and start to jump in the pan. Now tip them into a pestle and mortar and crush them coarsely.
    Next, heat the butter in a large saucepan, then add the chopped carrots, garlic and three-quarters of the crushed coriander seeds. Stir the carrots in the buttery juices and crushed seeds, then cover the pan and let the vegetables cook over a gentle heat until they are beginning to soften – about 10 minutes.
    Next, add the stock and season with salt and pepper and bring everything up to the boil. Then reduce the heat to low and simmer for a further 15-20 minutes, partially covered, or until all the vegetables are tender. Leave the soup to cool a little, then you can liquidise the whole lot in batches (a large bowl to put each batch in is helpful here). After that, return the purée to the pan and stir in the chopped fresh coriander and 2 tablespoons of the crème fraîche. Re-heat the soup, then taste to check the seasoning and serve in warmed bowls and garnish each one with a swirl of crème fraîche, a sprinkling of the remaining toasted coriander seeds and a sprig of fresh coriander.
    This recipe first appeared in The Delia Collection: Soup.

    Thanks Kaz - I've just found a different one on their website which I think may be the one I used to use - there will certainly be enough for any flyladies who want to come and taste it!

    This is the one: http://www.bbc.co.uk/food/recipes/database/carrotandcorianderso_81122.shtml

    All of you who do links, can you tell me how to do them where I just put it as a word IYSWIM?

    i deffinitly have to do something about the front. we've painted the porch last year but you can see broken bits here and there and the front garden is a raised bed surrounded with a low stonewall and it's got ..dunno... low plants they look nice when they bloom but right now it's all dried and horrible - i don't like gardening!!!
    should i set the table? does it make a difference? or just fresh flowers?
