Flower great advice! will try the plants although they won't last long in my care :o

Don't have to - just till you sell...:rotfl:

Ikea are great for cheap plants - about £2 for an ivy and their pots are pence (just go in with blinkers so you don't pick up anything else... ) Don't get them from homebase or anywhere like that - much too expensive!!!

Best thing is look at photos of houses in magazines - http://www.idealhomemagazine.co.uk/inspiredecor/gallery/main.php?g2_page=1 -DON'T LOOK AT THE ACTUAL FURNISHINGS - if you're like me, it will depress you...:D Just look at the layouts, the kind of stuff they have out - see, no mounds of paperwork - ooooh, it must be Mudbaths house!:rotfl:
Also, see how high pictures are positioned (not too high, you shouldn't look UP at a picture, you look AT it - helps make it part of the furniture...) etc.
Not too much on worktops in kitchens (in these pictures they have some herbs in pots - great coz they smell nice and are 'kitcheney' and definitly nothing on top of cupboards (want them to think you have enough storage, even if you haven't - hide it away if you can)not like 'real life' then eh!
Try not to spend any money if you can help it, if you think you need a few bits, beg, steal or borrow some stuff from friends/neibours for the day.
Oh, and last point, first impressions, make sure out the front looks lovely, people come along a long time before the viewing so don't leave this too long. If you can, pansys or something cheerful near the front door is nice and welcoming...
Hope that helps - and i'm not just preaching! - sorry, I get a bit over excited :D Wish I lived close, I'd be round helping you... I love it... (can't tell can you...)

DD doesn't want to go to T-K-D tonight (she got hit on the head with a football at lunchtime, and I think the earlier mornings are making her tired) so no rushing back out today. Instead, I'm going to do a 60 in 60 at 4.00, hopefully won't take that long, feeling really tired myself now!!!!!!

DH is deaf in one ear so he sleeps on his good ear and not much keeps him awake.

I do this as well, right ear down, left ear (the deaf one ) up! works like a treat, the cat sleeps on the bed and he soon lets me know if there is someone outside, as he starts to move and get tense! (he is a good guard dog)

  • Very impressed by the 60 thing challenge, but didn't think it would work for me. However I have just done a tour of BR and bathroom and think I did get about 60 items for the bin and a few other things relocated.:j
Plus a bag to go out tomorrow for charity collection. (Our charity shops are in the town centre so I can only take in what I can carry on the bus)

Afternoon all, just having a cuppa

I managed 2 hours in the back garden and the border I've done looks much better. I think I need 8 more hours our there to get it ready for spring.

This spring I need to really work on getting the grass back into condition and feeding the beds. Plan for this summer is to do something with the large sunken sandpit which the kids don't use anymore. It is surrounded by sleepers (I'll do a photo next week) so it would be hell to remove but I need ideas as to what to do with it. It could become a pond but I'm not mad about ponds and it would not be wildlife friendly as it would be a sheer drop in. Any ideas welcome.

My next room for decluttering is the family room, this is a bigger task than previous weeks and as I'm pretty busy for the next week I'm going to work slowly on this task. Will start now by doing a HHC of cleaning in here 16:00-16:30 before doing dinner

20p coins, get checking for the new ones with no date on them, it seems they can be worth up to £100, it seems the Royal Mint has made a printing error.
