  • I've just added up all the offers on the 'Free Bets' page (excl the foreign ones as I couldn't be arsed to look up the exchange rates) and it added up to £1160 worth of free bets! :j I know I'd get a bit less than that, what with acceptable losses factored in but still, I could pay off my card and buy the comp with that! :j Roll on the 27th. As soon as that loan's in, I'll work my way through the offers on there 1 by 1. This is going to be easier than I thought. (Let's hope those aren't 'famous last words')

    Morning all!

After my little bit of maths last night, I'm really in the mood to tackle my debts head on. And possibly tackle other problems in my life, like yet another long-overdue essay. But I'm going for baby steps so far, hoping things don't slip again.

I'm going into town with James later today. We're going to go to a cafe and have a walk on the beach (providing the fog has cleared). I've also, got a load of things to do in town so we're going to wander around the shops and do those first. So, on to my wonderful (and much missed, I'm sure :D ) to-do list.

    Town

[STRIKE]Go to Barclays and try to get an appointment to re-open my old account there.[/STRIKE] Done, they're sending a new card out.
[STRIKE]Go to Specsavers to have glasses re-adjusted (again).[/STRIKE] Done.
[STRIKE]Go to Halifax to pay in some cheques.[/STRIKE] Done.

    General

    [STRIKE]Write Dooyoo review.[/STRIKE] Done.
Do at least another 100 words on my essay.

I'd better get some breakie now and then I can call James. I'll write back later.

    Hi Ghostmadlittlemiss,

Glad to hear that you are sounding a lot more positive about clearing your debt.

A walk on the beach sounds like a good plan, I have found that there is nothing better than doing this.

Good luck on finishing the essay, they were never my most favourite thing about being at uni.
  • The beach thing didn't happen, unfortunately. James didn't manage to get any sleep last night so he was still asleep when I got there. So I went into town on my own to get my stuff done and I'm going back with him tomorrow to do the cafe and beach.

The essay hasn't been started yet but that's because I've been doing other things all day. I'm going out for a meal with my dad and grandparents in about 20 mins so I'll make a start when I get back. I do feel a lot more positive all of a sudden. I hope it lasts.
    Kayleigh.
  • I don't know why but I'm really worn out now. I know I should be working on that essay but I'm going to have an early night instead. I'll write tomorrow's list tomorrow morning. Talk again then.

  • Hey Kayleigh,

Sorry you've been having a rough time of it recently, glad you're feeling a bit more positive now.

I thought I'd subscribed to your thread but it's not on my list for some reason - technology clearly not my forte!!!

Added now though so will keep updated! xx

@ - Head-Out-Of-Sand - Don't worry, I can be the same with technology sometimes. I think I've done something and then go back and find it hasn't worked.

I'm just getting up and heading up to James' soon. We've decided to ditch the beach idea and head to Robin Hood's Bay instead, give me a chance to drive somewhere that I haven't been to before before the long drive back to Bath. I've got a lot on my mind right now so I'm not feeling as positive as normal but I think I need to talk to James about it before I can post it on here. So I'll do my list and then get going.

    List for today

[STRIKE]Buy allen keys from Aldi.[/STRIKE] Done.
Write at least 100 words on my essay.

Sorry about the short post and the secrecy. It's nothing to worry about, I promise. Talk again tonight.

  • I'm back from James' now. Again, we didn't get out anywhere. I fell asleep and he lost track of time and forgot to wake me. I'll really have to go tomorrow since I'm going back to Bath the next day. :( I'm really not looking forward to it, both the drive and being back there again. It's just so depressing, being so far away from everyone else. And I won't be going back to Scarborough again until 2nd July, at least. I finish uni on 1st June which means I won't have anything to do for a month except finish my deferred essays from earlier this year. And even with my procrastinating skills, I doubt they'll take a month. :D

I know, I'm back to my old ways again. The other thing that's got me down is James. The thing from this morning was that I really want to move back up north straight after uni and James wants me to move to London with him. But I don't know what I'd do in London for two years. I'm undecided as to what I want to do with my life at the moment as it is. At first, I thought I wanted to work for the CAB. Now I'm looking at working for the CCCS instead. I suppose I could look at the CAB again and do that for the two years, then go and work for the CCCS afterwards. I think I need to talk to someone at uni about this.

I'll have to get on with my essay some time soon. I'll write again later.

  • Sorry, I've really let this diary go again. :o I'll try to bring you all back up to date quickly.

Basically, I'm not going back to Bath today. The placement wouldn't answer the phone so I've had to change to another placement next week. I'm not sure exactly when I'm going back to Bath but it looks like it'll be either Thurs or Fri at the moment. Right now, I'm planning on spending the rest of the day doing my essay and maybe the odd Dooyoo review. Not sure what on yet, maybe I'll just do some Speakers Corner stuff. So all in all, a very light day planned.

    Hi,

Sorry to hear about your placement not answering but good news on managing to arrange a new one. I will probably bump into you on Dooyoo in between my general laziness and avoiding housework.:D
