When my o/h phoned up e2save to ask that exact question the operator said that it was not possible to port her existing number as it would void her cashback eligibility.
I read all their t&c's and couldn't find anything about them honouring (or not) their porting service for cashback deals.
Maybe they've recently changed their policy, or you've been lucky.

Like I said originally, it's probably best to phone and check as there's obviously some confusion on this topic.

If you place an order with e2save today, and you take a copy of the terms and conditions as above, then they will have to honour the cashback.

I disagree with your comment that it's better to phone and confirm. Instead, it's better to phone and have them confirm what they have said in writing.

I suspect that whoever you spoke to at the time did not fuly understand the implication of what they were saying. This is often the case with casual customer services staff. Of course, when things go wrong you can't get back to them and say so and so told me different. Always get it in writing. If they wont put it on paper or in an email, then do be suspicious.
  • hi people....i managed to get the answers i need from mobile rainbow

    I called 0808-160-0027 (toll-free) and also emailed them (help@mobilerainbow.co.uk
). On both fronts, they reassured me that porting a number was entirely upto my discretion and that it wouldn't affect my cashback.

in response to an earlier question, yes I do find the staff a little hard to understand cos the line's not very loud and they do have a pretty strong Indian accent too. they were however most helpful and very polite too.

Given the discussions on the Call Centre India discussion boards, MSols Limited (owners of Mobile Rainbow) use call centres in India.

However, the majority of call centres that I have had contact with are very professional, polite and have answered any questions that I may have. The only problem with many call centres here and overseas is where the centre is not kitted out properly and as a result they have too much background noise so you cannot hear them over the background chatter.

  • errm, just a quick, totally unrelated thing to add (didn't wanna start a new thread...)

if you guys don't trust/dont want to buy from Mobile Rainbow...you could try https://www.mailorderphones.co.uk they've got an offer for LG U880, £1.99p/m for the year on 3's VTT700 12 months' contract. catch is, you'll have to sign up for an additional, mandatory line with Orange for which they'll give you a cashback of £378.00 too. good thing about them is that all cashbacks are paid at the 6th month, so you could downgrade the tariffs beyond then and perhaps make some spare cash. bad thing is, they're not on Quidco. can't really vouch for this outfit personally, but my housemate did use them last year and was cashbacked accordingly.
