The law does say it has be one continous line. As there is a skip there is no continous line so Illegal PCN as per Neil B.

The most important point that NeilB pointed out is that the PCN itself is invalid as the deadline dates are wrong.

You parked illegally, you got a fine - deal with it and pay it!

...also, the dates DO add up... count again!!

    24/01/09 16:15 to 25/01/09 16:15 = 24hrs or 1 DAY

So you have until 16:15 on 21/02/09 (28 DAYS) to pay £70 or 07/02/09 (14 DAYS) to pay £35... simple.

I wasnt parked illegally. I was helping a friend move items to his house. There was no else to park. So atleast ask why I was parked there before jumping to conclusions

...what is silly is risking court action, bailiffs and potentially £100's more on top of your fine for the sake of £35. If you want to save money, don't park there in future.

Wrong. It would go to the Parking Adjudicator.

And you are wrong about the dates.

..helping a friend / not helping a friend... the fact is you still parked illegally and you got a fine for it. Why not park on the single yellow after the restriction period when it's legal to do so, or apply for a waiver from the council which allows works vehicles or removal vehicles to park adjacent to properties... then help your friend?

What has any of that to do with the validity of the ticket?

If the council wants to penalise a driver who is contravening regulations, then they too must abide by the rules set out for them. If they do not, then they cannot enforce the regulations against the driver. Simple. And that is fact. Not my opinion.
