Finally!
I got an email acknowledging the receipt of the items, only now will they confirm I am not to be charged for the items.
One word of advise to those of you who are thinking of joining this catalogue - don't!!!
Yes, my other catalogue are dear, but they give you correct information and sound like human beings, unlike the amoebas I have been subjected to for the past 3 weeks!Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -
ive binned my la redoute catalogue and my vertbaudet one, after muck ups by the courier firms they used !! in all fairness my next courier is fantastic but all the others leaving things unsigned for, in the bin , chucking them over the fence for the dog to pee on and chew etc etc !!0

Ha ha I just posted about this on the La Redoute thread on the Vent board. In my case it was bin day!0 -
Oh my God, I wish I'd seen this site before ordering from this horrible company.
We ordered some items in early summer. The courier threw them over the fence and into the garden to be attacked by foxes and then the rain got it wet. We had no idea they were there for days. When we opened the order, we found that every item was the wrong size.
We returned them, and they credited the amount for the items, but not the P&P. We had to chase them before this was done. They said there was a problem with their ordering system which had been fixed so we should reorder the items. We did and guess what? They sent all the wrong sizes AGAIN.
They sent another email saying that there WAS a problem with their ordering system and that we should order the WRONG size in order to get the correct size!!!! But if they sent us the wrong size as we had ordered it, then surely from a legal point of view, they had fulfilled their side of the bargain. We couldn't say they sent us the wrong sizes!!!!!
Again they didn't refund the P&P even though it was their mistake. We then started receiving junk mail from them, signed by the "Customer Care Manager" Jean Gibson. It wouldn't have been so bad, except apparently we were considered to be "one of our best customers" and that we were one order short of getting the "Gold Award". What a load of bull!!!!! The wording and layout of this whole thing was patronising and insulting to anyone's intelligence.
We thought we would call Jean Gibson and have a chat. The Customer don'tcare Line refused to let us speak to her. We asked if she really existed. (We don't think so) We spent hours being passed from one person to another but simply were NOT allowed to speak to the person we wanted to speak to. They said they would call us back and never did. Obviously the Customer Care Manager doesn't care enough to speak to any customers!
Who do these companies think they are by treating customers like this?
WE HATE YOU, LA REDOUTE and we will NEVER buy from you again. I hope you go out of business soon (but they won't as they are one of the biggest mail orders firms in Europe) and leave the companies that really care about customers behind.0 -
I had a la redoute 'ahem' employee tell me to * off once, because *they* had sent me the wrong size trainers, apparently expressing any kind of vague dissatisfaction with their service may elicit this response!
I just remembered that my dad ordered a jumper before we got sick of them, and they randomly sent him an enormous ladies silk flowery floaty nighty thing instead. That was one of their more amusing errors...0 -
I must say I quite like La Redoute, I don't appreciate the P&P but a code usually sorts that out
I have noticed that it does seem to take forever for returned items to show and be credited to my account but I see that as being the courrier not returning the items straight away (ie Waiting until they've collected returns from many customers hence the delay in LR crediting).
I've not really had a problem with their service, delivery could be a little quicker on occassion but my courrier is quite good - Have two delivery addresses I use, mine and my mums, my courrier is more than happy to try my mums if I'm at work.
However, I recently ordered some items from the website 'Gifts' section. Amongst the items (Which were full price, current season items) I purchased Theirry Mugler Angel EDP 50ml which was reduced from £60 to £30 and showed as available.
I had problems processing the order so had to call and make the order, which I did fine.
The day after, I realised I had been told a higher order total than was shown on the website so I called them to question it.
I spoke to a complete idiot, some boy who was so rude and kept telling me I was wrong, that the website was not showing the Angel perfume as half price. I kept telling this boy that I had the screen up in front of me and that I was not wrong. I was 'advised' to try to order the item via the website and return the full priced item..
So I did. I ordered the Angel perfume after I put the phone down.
I got an email confirmation accepting my order. A couple of hours later I got another email telling me the item was not in stock.. Bit miffed as it was showing as available.
Five days later, my telephone order arrived.. It included the full priced Angel perfume!! I checked the website and it showed as available (even now! a month later it's STILL showing as available). I called CS and spoke to a woman who said they only have some much stock allocated to sale prices, which I wasn't happy about but fair enough, however, the item was still showing as available - before I finished speaking she screamed at me saying the website had just been slow to update and that she wouldn't do anything.
Of course, I wasn't having any of this! I emailed LR explaining everything and asked about their policies on website prices/availablity/updating.. I got a reply a couple of days later saying they would let me have the item I already had at half price. No mention of policy!! Althoughresult on the price.
I'm a little annoyed about this as the item is STILL showing as available now, a month later. (As are other items in the gift section, showing available but I have tried to order two others which are showing as out of stock on my statements!)
Surely 'website slow to be updated' is not an excuse a month later? Espesh as 'valentine's' promo banners are slapped all over the gifts section where the perfume is!!
Rant over.
All in all I am happy with them, that 'incident' just irked me though :rotfl:The £2.00 Coin Savers Club = approx £22.00  :j.. The 20p Savers Club = £17.80.

claire_bargains wrote:Oh, and to cap it all because I dared to order a size 14 item, I am now classified as "outsize" and get all their leaflets specially designed for the "larger lady" flipping cheek!
Needless to say, I don't bother any more!
Don't take it personally, Claire! I'm a size 8 and they send me their "outsize" catalogue too. They're not being rude - just absolutely blooming useless as usual!0 -
I would definately challenge them re: any charges. They did seem to have an issue last year with stock - not sure what happened, but I got a letter apologising for the poor service.
My courier is the same as the one Next use and if it's easier I'll send the parcel back via the post office.
With regards to paying I find it's easier to pay on-line and it's easy to view statements too.
The sizes do vary since their clothes are from different suppliers - but when they're good they're great.
I'm waiting for them to pick up a bit though - I'm hoping that they'll turn things round again.
Happy Valentines day everyone :smileyhea0 -
My experience with la redoute has been brilliant. Have ben using them for about 3 years now. Only place orders with generous codes - my orders are usually totalling about 60p! Other than the sizes issue - always order a size up and is fine for all members of my family. I always order online and pay ther and then. Once i get a email saying item is dispached my courier always delivers within 2 days. And if im not in leaves in pre aranged place....he has a mobile nbumber he puts on the parcels if you want anything collecting. And refundas have always ben put back on my card within 5 days.
Someone mentioned vertbaudet - has ben exactly the same with them.
It sems its the local couriers that are the real problem with the company. My local courier does La redoute, vertbaudet, empire and kays.0
