LaRedoutte Catalogue

I firstly apologise if this is in the wrong section, i'm new to this so please feel free to move this topic to a more suitable area, I couldn't work out where it should go!
I have a LaRedoutte Catalogue and just before Christmas I sent them a cheque for the payment required (£13), but it never arrived, no one's fault other than Christmas Post. I knew nothing about this until LaRedoutte wrote to me to tell me and charged me (£15) for the privilage. I wrote back with another cheque (that I forgot to sign, my fault fair enough) and they again wrote to me (another £15) to tell me it wasn't signed and to sign it and return it to them signed. I sent the original cheque back to them with a letter saying their charges were a little steep, especially after the loss in the post, but I have still not paid the £30 in charges. Should I argue with them and get them to remove the charges, seeing as one of them wasn't my fault, the other one I can maybe pay, I just need a bit of advice, has anyone else had this situation?
Thanks in anticipation!

Yes, argue with them!
I ordered goods from Studio24 and never received my first invoice. The 2nd arrived with a £1 late payment fee and a £20 admin charge.
I rang them and told them It was extremely sttep given teh order was for £24 and they immediately removed both fees!
I sometimes wonder if these companies do this in the hope that a certain percentage will just roll over and pay up.The Daily Mail

I'm glad that I am not the only one then! I'll give them a call and see what they say, although for the service I've had I don't think i'll be using them again. I've never been late with a payment, often pay too much as I know I'll get something else and can leave the money in credit and they have the cheek to charge me for a lost in the post cheque! :eek:If I've got it, you can have it.0 -
The wife spent over £250 on clothes for our 9 year old, when it turned up only 2 things fitted her so sent it all back, then went onto ebay spent £75 and doubled the amount of clothing we got from LaRedoutte, and it all fits0

I have had a few problems with la redoute recently.
After delivering goods by way of throwing them over the fence into a puddle  , I attempted to use their "courier service" to return the goods.
I was told they would come within the next 2 -5 days.
I asked, so when will they come.
"We can't say"
"But surely you don't expect people to wait in for 5 days without leaving the house?"
"Well yes, we do"
I was told that I couldn't return by royal mail as I was in courier delivery area.
I said that I have to go to work, and would not be waiting in, so they better allow me to return via post for free, or else. (They wanted to charge me another £3.45).
After uming and ahhing a bit, they said they supposed they could let me off the P&P charges.
Then, the next day (4 days after the delivery), I get an invoice for the items are returning!
I phoned them and said, as I am returning the items, why have I got an invoice?
"We haven't got a courier booked down for you"
I didn't scream or threaten rip out anyone's larynx, despite the deepening rage building.
and explained the story.
The despondant teenager on the other end of the line couldn't have cared less.
"I suppose I can delay the charges, so you can return the items".
And I suppose in the future, that La redoute can stick their catalogue where the sun don't shine.
Rubbish rubbish rubbish from start to finish.
UPDATE: I just called and spoke to despondant teenager no 2.
The items are still showing on their system.
I advised I had returned them. They said it can take up to 14 days to return on the system.
I said well,I sent them on such and such a date...
"I'll put a not on the system to say you have returned them a bit alte"
"Pardon me?! I have 14 days to send the items back, I returned them on the 4th day, in what way have I returned them late?"
"Well it takes 14 days to return them"
"So in theory, I should have sent the items back the day before I got them?"
"uhh....."
"These will not be charged to my account.
"I don't think so"
Obviously I took her name for reference....Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -

Yes, they hound young ladies for payment for items that have been returned, pretend they don't receive faxes, pretend it takes days for a fax to come out of their fax machine, repeatedly send demanding letters for payment for items returned - useless bunch of rubbish. The sooner they go bust the better.0 -
I use La redoute and I am in courier area. Actually they live the next road down from me. But being a lazy moo I just shove it back in the post. As the PO is about 5 min walk from my house.
Never had any problems. Even did an exchange on a item as the size was way to big. On the invoice they charged me full price even thought the goods had been free with a code. Rang them up no problems took the charge off so only paid postage of £3.45.

la redoute couriers are self employed so the head office do not know when they will be collecting. if you telephone the courier direct they will normally be able to give you a more accurate time. their telephone number is normally on the outside of the parcel and on the delivery note.
hope this helps in future.0 -
Don't get me started on La Redoute.... last year, I ordered an item with a month and a half to go before my birthday...... 4 months later and they were still waiting for stock to come in. I finally got a letter in September - that's 6 months on to tell me that they were sorry, but they were now out of stock of the item.
Oh, and to cap it all because I dared to order a size 14 item, I am now classified as "outsize" and get all their leaflets specially designed for the "larger lady" flipping cheek!
Needless to say, I don't bother any more!0 -

Thank you!
Sadly, the "courier" did not supply any contact details, so I couldn't call them. La Redoute would not give me anycontact details.
That's Redcats couriers. Rubbish!Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -
I've had la redoute coriers leave packages in my bin and no card through the door. Only noticed when I went to put something in the bin - good job it wasn't bin day!0
