We went to nuweiba (red sea) about 10 of us went. It was the best holiday we have ever been on. We paid a little extra to stay in a bungalow rather than in the hotel, the beach was a few steps outside of our front door, the gardens are amazing. The food was fine (I am a very fussy eater), their was an italian, egyptian, bbq & indian restaurant plus bar food (burger, chips, etc), we never had a dodgy belly & didn't hear of anyone else who did.
The main reason we went was the snorkelling, it really is amazing, once you get in the sea you will not want to get back out, we cant wait to go back. I heard strange clicking noises while snorkelling & practically flew out of the sea (terrified), however I was absolutly gutted as it was a group of dolphins.
The only thing I would recomend is make sure you have enough spending money, we were running low so thought we'd walk to the nearest bank. Four of us went (all women) along a derelict road (about 10 mins), arrived at the town, we had to walk past an open bar full of men all shouting at us to join them, arrived at the cash point to find 2 armed guards sat either side. We practically ran back to the hotel.
Have a great holiday & take an underwater camera, the pictures we took were fab.0 -

My sons snorkled from the beach which also had a pier for snorkling. It was amazing, even just walking in the sea knee deep - so many fish, so many colours to see. Would def go back.
Really pleased you posted. We are booked into the Park Inn in May and I was a bit worried by some of the reviews.0 -
We stayed in the Three Corners St George's in Sharm this winter, for a week, coming back on 25th December and it was lovely.
It was clean (I mean spotless), friendly, full of Brits, a few Scandinavians and the odd person from elsewhere. I think we spotted on Russian family in our hotel. The staff were kind, caring, helpful and attentive without being overbearing. I would highly recommend it. My husband was ill while we were in Egypt and the onsite doctor made what could have been a nightmare into a breeze as I had our 6 year old to look after as well.
We did venture into anther hotel full of russians and it was totally different - everything was geared towards Russian speakers and we would have been verr uncomfortable there.
A friend of mine went with her hubby and 2 daughters to this hotel in September, they loved every minute. They are going back there this year.
I stayed in the 3 corners at El Gouna year before and it was really good there too. I think this is a great hotel company !!!Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -
We stayed in Sharm last year and i wouldn't reccomend it. Hotel was nice but sharm was a complete tourist trap and not really a decent place to relax... would opt for the med any day of the week.

Like everything in life 'one man's meat is another man's poison'. I think any 'holiday' resort can be described as a tourist trap unless you're way off the beaten track. We've found Sharm to be a totally relaxing holiday; hotel staff are amongst the best and we return to Sharm for the third time in April. We do go into the town area in the evening for a stroll and a meal but just ignore the venders/hassling etc. It can be daunting which is why some people are put off I guess (not as bad as Turkey) but I would highly recommend.
