What an expensive lunch £2.10 for a sandwich (i really shouldn't sleep in therefore not have time to make butties) but at least I received another £2 coin.£2 saver club = £12 :j
20p saver club = £8.40 :j0 -
2 more today...DD gave me 2 in her housekeeping money...yay!! I've just realised that my £2's smell like pickled onions!! I cleaned the jar out, but obviously not well enough!!0

amosworks wrote:I thought I'd save my coins in jars of olives. Lidl sell them for 38p and they hold £2 coins nicely. So if you like olives and live near a Lidl (probably an Aldi too) then it might be worth a nose - they will hold £50 perfectly

I keep my £2 in a Lidl spice jar, and have just bought some smarties so I can put 20p-pieces in there. £2s also fit well in the old-style camera film canisters.
I'm now looking for alternative containers for other coins (I know that's not quite on-thread - sorry, greenfingers!:o ). All suggestions welcome, please.
I refuse to spend £25 on a coin sorter, but am obsessing over my mixed up change!
txDebt at highest: £68,000 plus mortgagesCurrent debt: £0.00!!!:D
Now I just have to buy my Dad's share of my flat back and I can start on the mortgage...

LOL,
I started a good saving idea not so long back,
What i did was, Being a ex-welder i cut 6 pieces of metal (6x6ins) and welded them all together to create a solid box. Used an angle grinder at work and put a slot in one side.
No more "ill just take 3quid out for a Kfc" moments(which happens quite alot) , unless you wont to spend 20mins opening it with a grinder. lol0 -
