Yes i did call the op a BG terroist! Problem....They all get the terms and conditions and bin them, then they complain on boards like this. This same customer probably abuses the sytem and takes BG for £££££. I explained why the service is moved sometimes, is that not a good enough reason???0

I won't be renewing this year, there must be others who can provide a proper service.
So if I had my service when it was due I may not have been quite so cold yesterday... They have changed the terms and conditons in the last 12 months to say you have to contact them to book the service, but they are not telling anyone this so unless you read your t & c's each time you won't know what's changed.
A call out within 12 hours? I'd say that was a pretty good service. It's not like you have a power cut or anything. it's not going to kill you , not having heating or hot water for a day!!!0 -

You should learn to Read. I have been a customer for near n 14 years. It was an onservation i made when I moved nearly two years ago. Since being in my new house, i monitored it just to see if it was a one of which clearly it was not.
As for the T & C's, they changesd the wording last year to say that you must contact them???? As a customer, I pay for a service which is why i posted this story. The reason you have a yearly contact is not only to maintain it so that it works efficently, but to ensure any leaks that could occurre and kill or injury my family are minimised. By rolling it forward each year could cost me more money in terms of the gas I am using as it might not be running as efficnently as it could be after a service and is putting lives at Danger.
As for ripping them off, I find that as an insult. The policy is for protection and to abuse it would be very hard anyway. As it is, I have only once had to request them to call within the year of a contact about 8 years ago. Since then, I never have had need.
Comments like yours are unjust and just reminds me how idiots pay for things and just roll over and accept them. I wonder how many times you have actually reviewed your own personal life finacial situation and questioned anything. Unless of course, you are a British Gas worker and could not help resist making a comment as the truth is out.0 -

playdayz you got me, i am a BG engineer this is why i quoted the T&C's.
I also know that rolling the service every year is not putting your life in any danger so you can stand down off your soapbox!
I just dont understand why customers like you come on forums like this and state that BG homecare is a con yet you consider to be a customer!(expalain that one) Our contract scheems are there to be abused, on this forum i have heard of cutomers doing just so! If anyone has any constructive coments or questions about any homecare plans i will glady oblige as i have done several times. I just feel the need to defend the company i work for when people with no clue make faulse claims or comments!0 -

I came on here to ensure other people are not paying for something and not getting it. British Gas changed the wording on the policy, not me. As a loyal Customer that does not rip them off, all they had to do was high light the changes, but no, just like Big Companies, keep their customers in the dark. A rolling contract is just that, look it up. Any changes should be highlighted to the customer. The excuse, we sent you the T&C's. Very helpfull.
I phoned them to book my service now, 6 weeks lead time?????0 -
I wouldn't make light of my grumbles with British Gas Homecare not after they broke my fathers boiler on Xmas Eve and left him without heating with a serious heart condition and tried to charge him for their own incompetence.
Anyone tried to find out if these cowboys are corgi registered!!Its impossible
British Gas are a disgrace.Wind me up again Gasbag and I'll spend the next year thrashing your Company on this and other forums and warning other people to stay well away so they don't suffer the same problems we have had to put up with0 -
