New Channels on Freeview

I knew nothing about the freeview retune until yesterday when the bbc website said retune freeview.
Well after the Man U match I thought well why not - and lost all the channels.
Think the problem is the aerial - never could get Film 4, so ordered a cheap £12 wideband one for reception from a Bilsdale relay mast.
The box retuned okay - just turned out to be 'a bad day'.

Anyone know when ITV1+1 is likely to start?

I'm not allowed to post links but Digitalspy states ITV1+1 starts October 1st. broadcast on digital satellite and Virgin digital cable from 10:25 - 07:00.
Not available Northern Ireland, Scotland and Channel Islands.

ITV1 +1? is this not the same as ITV2? Why can't they just put new stuff on? -Actually, I don't know why I'm complaining- I don't get half of the channels I am paying for (licence fee) I don't get BBC3, Channel 4, Channel 5.....the list goes on!

I am not sure if its my aerial or the box, does anyone have any good recommendations for boxes (as cheap as possible!) that work after this retuning lark? then maybe I can get back to watching something other than QVC and the BBC News 24! And if not, which bozes to avoid.

ITV2 shows different shows to ITV1 like BBC2 does to BBC1. Personally Ill be glad to have an ITV1+1 as I always seem to miss programs I want to see on ITV lol.

It sounds like its the ariel! Have you got a booster ariel? We have to use a booster to get all our channels

Oh just found that ITV1+1 on freeview launch has been delayed and wont be until further notice!

i've got all channel but one sky sports news av tryed loads of times to update but i still cant get it!!!

itv2 waste of time- the 'extra' bits could just as easily be included in any main show.. they seem to puff up programs to fill time.

a case in point was The Paul Potts (1st BGT winner) 'story'...all over a 3 mon or so song.. although he was a worthy winner, did they story of his life journey (actually more of an ego trip for the big trouser man..) have to take sooo long, before showing the song?
