The last few weeks have been very hectic with work and no particular routine to stick to. This week should be a nice boring week so gives me a chance to get back into the swing of things (and to eat better food!)

    Here's my efforts......

Sunday - lemon sole, new potatoes in garlic butter and salad
Monday - salmon , jacket spud and salad for OH, same for me except meat free kiev instead of salmon
Tuesday - jacket potato, beans and cheese for me, OH out
Wednesday - quorn spag bol for me, meatballs in spag bol sauce and pasta for OH
Thursday - quorn in hoisin sauce and noodles for me, freezer curry portion and rice for OH
Friday - HM fish and chips

    Breakfast is always cereal
Lunches will be a selection of fruit with..
    • Supernoodles
    • Cheese and pickle sandwich
    • Left over spag bol
    • Beans on toast
  • Hi all. I am within my grocery budget for the month but I have decided I am going to try and have a 'whatever's in' week this week apart from some fresh fruit from the market tomorrow and then the remainder of my grocery budget can go in my savings pot.

Sunday: Grilled bacon & scrambled egg for breakfast, Pork & Mushroom casserole, mash and veg for dinner, fruit salad supper
Monday: HM Spag Bol (big batch in slow cooker, will use rest as meat sauce in lasagne)
Tuesday: HM Toad in the hole with mash & veg from freezer
    Wednesday: HM Lasagne & jackets
    Thursday: HM Tuna pasta bake
Friday: Kids at birthday party, jacket & beans for me
Saturday: Toasties for lunch, at friend's for tea

Breakfasts will be cereals and there are various tins of rice pudding, custard and packs of angel delight if we fancy dessert and snacks of fresh fruit. Lunches sandwiches, ham, egg or tuna on HM bread.

  • I found life so much simpler after doing my first meal plan last week. In fact about half way through the week, I remembered that I used to do this about 20yrs ago and it worked well then - so why did I stop

So, here goes for this week:
Weekday breakfasts will be cereal, toast or yogurt. Cooked brunch on Sunday.
Lunches dh takes packs, dd has lunch at school (no matter how hard I try, she refuses to take packs even though all 3 of her sisters did) I have soup or leftovers.

    Dinners:
Monday - Hm Soup with rolls. Rtc apple pie + custard
Tuesday - Rtc chicken & mushroom pies (from freezer) veg with hm mushroom sauce and tattie wedges
    Wed - Fritatta
Thurs - Hm Roast beef (from feezer) tatties and veg with yorkies
Friday - Sausage casserole or sausage pasta bake
Sat - Cous cous stuffed peppers
Sunday - Trout with cous cous and veg or savoury rice + Hm Trifle

I think that's it for this week.
