I was about to ask where in wales could you buy a house for £6000 in 2000?

Then you said "Treorchy working mens club"

    LOL. Thanks.

But, no, you wouldn't. HR would insist a researcher needs a degree :P

Ah sounds like you are having the same problem as me PN, know what you are doing, have lots of experience in it but as you have no degree, the computer says no.

    Most frustrating.
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

Yes, I started an OU one, but it became a problem. First I could afford it but was in/out of work and moving frequently and all over the place for weeks on end (no net access, in cheap hotels hundreds of miles away, no video recorder, doing IT stuff would have menat lugging a printer and PC about on the road and all the paraphernalia).

Then I couldn't afford it, I was in/out of work and unsure what would be happening next - and I didn't know you could get it paid for you.

Now I've no idea what to study to finish it and not sure where I'll be, so feeling unsettled and in limbo.

Life's a lot easier if you've got a set base and a known, regular income. Take those two away and a lot falls by the wayside.

Why don't you guys just pretend you have one? Who cares about some degree you may have got twenty years ago?

Oooohhh I am far too honest for that, I am one of the weird ones who has never lied on or embellished my CV.

Dunstan Memorial Hall was one of the halls in Wales on Homes Under The Hammer, the guy who bought it wanted to put 2 semi deteached town houses on the site, the planners were having none of it!

Its back on the market for £72,950 now!

Yes I can understand those feelings.

I was once a respected member of the community, I went to work, earnt my money and knew what was expected of me....I was happy in my little world of remembering container numbers, sorting out horrendous query files with oodles of charges and the never ending ringing telephone with an irate/confused customer that needed calming/explanation.

Now it is all confusing, jobs that I can do standing on my head (if I could still stand on my head :D ) are now out of reach because I don't have a degree, something which didn't matter when I went out into the work place nearly 23 years ago (blimey that is a scary number)...I sometimes feel like doing that Likely Lads thing of gis us a job, or going down on my knees and begging for a chance, that is all I want, a chance to prove I can do the job without a blooming degree!

    Bought £402k + stamp duty + fees
Auction date June 2006: over 30 months of £400k mortgage interest
    Architect/planning fees

Now for sale at an asking price of £375k

That was a good read. Thanks Browntoa, thanks Pastures.

Whilst she's owned it, she'll have had to pay for planning permission costs, and stuff like council tax I'd image.

So another landlord with a load of property and getting an education about greed, bubbles and crashes. If I were the bank and she gets in to trouble with repayments, I'd be straight after getting all her other properties from her, and her own home.

    thank you
i found it on virgin catch up, bit disapointed that they are over a year old, thought they would be more recent and for this climate. still good to watch what ppl do with the rundown properties though, if nothing else to watch.
