look the way I see it, legislation is in place to cover this, especially if you refer to SOGA and UTCC. If it wasnt covered it would not be valid.

I am not anti, I am just amused.

I'm not taking this further because the law is too complicated and I don't have the time to pursue this further for what I see is a small amount of money. However, I'm certainly not going to find amusement from those that wish to pursue this further.

What I do find amusing though is someone who clearly has no interest in this thread has posted 16 times.

Get over it! I am down £90.00 thanks to B&Q as i have purchased a door from Homebase to go on my dishwasher and they will not let me return it. I don't see why i should be out of pocket due to their error!

Easiest way is via www.moneyclaim.gov.uk. They won't fight because they know they're almost certain to lose in court, the judgment will be in the public domain and will trigger a landslide of claims (it's likely that hundreds if not thousands of others ordered this dishwasher at £89), damaging stories in the press, etc.

Thanks, i think i'll go down this route then. I am awaiting a reply to my letter of complaint to them first and i will see what happens before i go ahead with court proceedings. I wrote to them a week and a half ago and gave them 14 days to reply but not had a response as yet.

It would have been interesting to see what B&Q would have done had you bought the door from them!

  • I just wondered how those that were persuing this were getting on? I sent B&Q a complaint letter over 3 weeks ago now but i've not had any response. They have received it as it was sent recorded delivery. I'm at a bit of a loss as to what to do now, i contacted Consumer Direct but they weren't overly helpful and were very non comittal when i mentioned taking it to court. Has anyone else heard back yet or had a postive response? Feel free to PM me if you don't want to discuss it on here.
  • You won't get a positive response. It was an item that sold out, and they refunded you. If you think you may actually get anything more than a "sorry it sold out" letter/email then you are in cloud coockoo land. I am sure the usual suspects will reply to this post saying "bleh blah bleh" but at the end of the day you aren't going to get jack s*&t out of this so save your time and do something more productive.
