we should have a chain of PM's pollsdolls . Everyone should have 1 person to be PM'd when a glitch appears. Its just hard because we dont know which of them would be MrB! so the newbies would suffer.

Back on topic: Is the no7 GWP out yet? I need a blinkie to use with my 250pts voucher as I NEED a GWP!

Perhaps once something has been explained, if someone asks a question that was covered in the earlier explanation, we should just tell them it has been discussed in the last day and that they can do a search. Put nicely, of course, lol. People with a lot of exacting questions who want it spelt out over and over could be asked to PM someone, or someone could say "I will PM you with details"? That last part should be put on the board so others don't go back and answer the question, too.

Also, people could stop posting just to say such-and-such glitch that has already been reported just worked for them, too (unless the poster had some new information about how it worked or what items it worked with). Don't know how well people will stick to this idea, but it would be nice to keep deals from getting busted.

In view of the fact that Boots read this thread, I think that the chit chat that goes on helps to a degree to hide the glitches. Also, it means that greedy folk who clear shelves and .com, actually have to take time read to read the thread rather than having all the deals handed to them on plate. Plus it makes it a nice friendly forum.

However, I do agree with you that when the same question/discussion is in numerous posts, it would be a good idea to PM the person and tell them it has already been discussed in detail on the thread and that use of the search facility will enlighten them! The danger with this of course is that Mr B decides to PM for full details and gets the glitch busted that way! For what it's worth I think that people need to be a little more discrete when posting about their sucess with glitches/obtaining freebies. After all, we don't want Mr B to act like Mr T and almost erradicate all codes, vouchers and glitches, do we?

Personally, I think the grabbit board is in a no win situation...if we don't discuss/chat, the glitches are easier to spot and stopped quicker and if we do discuss the thread becomes cluttered and often repetative.

I liked the magic writing idea as you had to follow the thread closely to establish whether the person had posted a glitch or just left a large paragraph space. However, I can see how annoying that would be for those regular posters who have limited time and I suppose new posters/lurkers would then be at a disadvantage.

Anyway, back to Boots, someone posted that the snowmen cameras are £2.25 and going thru on a BOGOF, sadly this isn't nationwide - I picked up 2 this morning on the clearance stand and they went thru at £4.50 each - so got them refunded and said to the SA that it wasn't much of clearance as the full price ones were £5.99 on BOGOF. However, I managed to get a NAKED giftset (well 2 actually) for £6 - they were marked at £4.50 each on clearance.

Well said skibster.and great advice about the PM's:T :T :T I have seen the same message/s posted over and over about how such a thing was done/achieved/worked by the same people. Posting it once is enough. If not everyone sees it thats the way it is. Some glitches will pass us by and some we will catch. You wont get them all, so don't even try. ;)

Filling up pages with the same stuff will get peoples backs up, they then report the posts for chat and we have problems again.

I realise that it may be difficult for new posters, but there is always the BOOTS refugees thread which is very under used, and was kindly set up by Mrs bluebear for Boots chatting. This thread will also be monitored, I am sure, but at least chatting is allowed freely there

But if everyone who posts could just imagine that what they are saying is being teleported to Boots CS at exactly the same time, perhaps they will think twice in what they post and how often they post it. Dont post here what you would not say to CS

We all learn as we go along, so we have all made mistakes in the past. but if we can get Grabbit back to grabbit again, maybe more people will be satisfied and others will stop complaining and reporting .
    Careless talk costs[strike] lives [/strike]glitches

Edit :-O.K guilty as charged, before anyone says I should have posted this on refugees ;)

I agree that posting once should be enough, on how glitches/combinations/GWPs work etc. And the idea of replying to a newbie's repeat questions with pms is a really good one :T , for a few reasons.

But I'm a bit confused about complaining and reporting - even if things are repeated here more than once, aren't the posts themselves still grabbits, and not chat?

I've had a quick look over the last few pages of the refugees thread, and its all chat - ie nothing to do with Boots at all as far as I can see.

Bit annoyed, so thought I would vent.
Joined this thread last year & have followed it throughout...
Saw how friendly everyone was & when someone asked for a spare GWP I immediately offered to send one.
Did this & havent had a thank you or even acknowledgement that it has arrived!
I, personally, find this quite rude & from now on, I will watch who I offer to help. It doens't take much to say thanks.

Sorry to hear about those having bad experiences regarding swaps etc with other members on here but there are also members who are extremely kind and a credit to this thread.

For instance when i posted regarding a product due to be discontinued a couple of members pm'd me offering to send me some (at cost but making no profit from it) i hope i thanked them enough as "they went the extra mile for me" by going to buy the item, packaging posting etc with no gain for themselves.

I like to think I've helped a couple of members on here by offering things i had spare that they wanted/ordering on their behalf and will continue to help where i can :)

As I don't get paid till the end of the week, can anyone confirm whether I would still get a blinkie if I pay in points?
"Buy me, Lady", said the frock, "and I will make you into a BEAUTIFUL & WHOLE & COMPLETE human being".
"Do not be silly", said the Man, "for a frock alone cannot do that".
"True", said the Lady, "I will have the shoes and the bag as well".

Sorry you dont get blinkies when paying with points :(
  • Hi all again. Just to say that I picked up 3 of the No7 Hydra Quench Sorbet face cream that were on clearance (as stated on the shelfedge for £3.xx) and took them to the till to be bought on 3 4 2 and with a Blinkie. The went thru the till at £25.xx. I told her the price on the SEL and she said to the other SA "THEY" must have put them back up to full price that morning. This was at 8.45am. Why put them on the shelf with a clearance ticket if the arent old stock. Im assuming this has something to do with the changeover tomorrow ie minimum spend. I got one of these yesterday at the reduced price. HTH

Popped in here today, wombled a blinkie in the basket, and got glossy locks hair spritz, picked up 2 of these at £2.83 and took to the till, SA scanned one and scanned blinkie then scanned other and was going to charge me full price, I asked if she could scan both then blinkie and I would pay the extra 66p, thats what I have done before, she was like no that will not work, I asked her to please try and hey presto it did but it didnt ask for the 66p so I got 2 bottles for free.:j :j :j . I went over to the No. 7 counter and there is a stand with Intelligent Balance Night/Day Fluid on priced at a whopping £7.80 each, I bought these on Thursday last week at £2.25 so free with my blinkies. What are Boots think they are doing upping prices like this.

    No HE again.
