oh yeah, also by the NO 7 stand was a clearance stand with quite a large size P&P body serum reduced from 24.50 to 12.25, handy if you've got a £5 off P&P acm voucher

was pleased discover that £2 wrinkle works with reduced stuff and I was also able to use 150 on T&G voucher from ACM.

Quick question - I have a voucher for 150 on Trevor Sorbie from the recent mailing. Does this combine with 150 points on ACM. Will it work on reduced stuff??? It states reduced lines excluded on it, but maybe this is SA dependent? Anyone else tried already?
  • After my session today, I'm just cross with myself that I didn't apply for (a) Carol Voorderman's job, when she left Countdown (b) a job in The Treasury and (c) employment as a Diplomat!!

We started off by picking up a handful of the £5 off £25 spend vouchers, then doing the rounds of the ACMs where I managed to breed 4 more 100 points off the Sumptuous stuff plus another 3 x £5 off P & P. Then the fun began!

Firstly I went to the No 7 counter and tried every possible combination known to man, and a few that aren't, in order to use both £5 vouchers. The problem is that the till doesn't see the 50% discount off P & P serum when you get the GWP, but does see it when you try to use the £5 off £25 voucher.

So what you need to do is get your serum, plus £14 worth of stuff if you're using an over 60s card, or £12.75 worth, if you are under 60! Naturally, you only choose things that you'd be buying anyway, and then it all works.

In fact, the SA was so impressed by my tenacity, that she gave me 2 x GWPs each time! I did this deal twice for myself, and twice for Dee (who stood behind me, shaking!), and as I'm getting nappies for DGS, baby wipes (3 for 2) etc, cough medicine for OH, Exlax for my neighbour (!) it's not hard to spend the required amount.

I also used a 250 points coupon, so each deal, in Boots logic meant:-

    No 7 P & P should cost £24.50
    Less 50%, costs £12.25
    Less 10% over 60s costs £11.03
    Less £5 voucher costs £6.03
Less £5 spend over £25 voucher costs £1.03
Less points acquired on £11.03 (44p) costs 57p
Less 250 points previous GWP means ......................... (drum roll) .........

I've been paid £1.93 to take it away!!

    :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

I think that's right  and I would have bought the other items anyway, and managed to use some nappy coupons as well, so VERY pleased with that.

Then I bought 3 for 2 Sumptuous Bath Soak, using the same method, and they should have cost me £23.40, but I added goods for £11 because they are on 3 for 2 (£15.60), less my 10% (£14.04), and I had to get over £25, so over 60s would need £11 worth of other goods, under 60s would need £9.40 worth of other goods, in order to use the £5 off £25 voucher.

So, after my 10% discount they cost £14.04
    Less £5 voucher, costs £9.04
Less 100 points, (in Boots logic) leaves £8.04
Less 250 points (in Boots logic) costs £5.54 for £23.40 of goods!!

Then came the Big Trouble. I now had a broken back, due to the weight of all this stuff, but Dee wanted S & G, so I airily said "Oh this worked fine yesterday at Lakeside", and we picked up 10 between us.

I went to the nearest SA, explained the palava, and she had to call over a Supervisor, aka The Dragon! She was so rude, telling me that I shouldn't be using them, and every time I tried to speak, or show her my previous receipts she interrupted me. :o

She had an audience of 3 other SAs, and was obviously trying to impress them. "You're not listening to me!" she said, in a very loud voice. "These can't be used with another offer". I replied that I wasn't trying to use them on 3 for 2, but would make separate purchases.

She said the same thing, only louder, adding that "these are doing the rounds" and "bath stuff isn't skin care" and looking at the vouchers like they were £50 note forgeries.

So I said "May I speak now". "Mmm" she replied, looking at the voucher "I'm listening". But she wasn't!

"Well" said I "when you were talking, I not only afforded you the courtesy of listening to you, but I made eye contact which shows one is really listening and not just paying lip service".

"I am listening" said the SA "but I'm reading this". "No you're not" I replied "cos you're just looking at something you've read 3 times. I don't know if it is your intention to be rude, but that is the impression I'm getting, so perhaps you could give me the telephone number for Customer Services".

I may be wrong but there was a definite snigger from the other SAs!! At that she said "Well, I'll do it but just this once". "Thank you" I said graciously. And we got the 10 for £2.

Why do some of these SAs act like that?

Then I limped to Tootsies, where I had a voucher for 2 for 1 brunch, very nice too, I think it was for £5.40, so we paid £2.70 each for 2 eggs, sausage, 2 rashers, tomatoes, mushrooms, and 2 slices of toast!! :T

Then we went to (I think) Pret a Manger, who were doing filter coffee for 99p, together with free cake cos of Valentines Day (?) and got the buses home.

Now I must go and rub all my creams in, and make myself look gorgeous for the 40th birthday do, but please pray for me - I shall be wearing shoes that do not accommodate my bunions!

    xx

Sorry to snip, but I wonder if you could make your spend up to £25 with a face product and hair product and use both sides of wrinklie, then total cost of p&p body serum and a face product and hair product and gwp would be £8.00 (I think) and you would get 250 points plus normal points.

    Does that make sense?? :rotfl::confused:

MIght try it next week, but will write it all down before I go so I dont get confused:rotfl:
now has her .com delivery but doesnt know where to put it :o

Hi, sorry you did'nt have any luck with yours. Might be worth popping in again and trying - just tell them that it states for skincare and not a specific range. I like to go in early and get the chap 'Matt' to serve me as he will normally just scan anything you hand him :A. The nice supervisor is the one with a dark haired bob and glasses.

Im not sure about Peterborough or Ely branches. I'm hoping to go to Ely today if the snow does'nt get any worse - and try them in there. Try the young girl on the No7 and the chap with the mohichan at the front till :A.

thanks for that Aggie, will try again, or maybe Ely- know the man you mean, he is very sweet, got an Olay GWP with him for £nil. As you know, S&G not really well stocked in our area. only 3/4 items full sized in Wisbech, Downham, March, Spalding & Holbeach. No one had reduced HE or much else really Lynns's sale stand had been removed yesterday as they had 'an important visitor' today - no idea who, 2 SA's just smiled! Said it should be back by Saturday, as it looks untidy. Saw 2 Lee Stafford sets in March if anyone is after them - not highlighted as reduced, just £17.99 on the SEL, with electricals.

I will not give up on my s&g quest...weekend and 1/2 term week, here I come!

Blimey that was a long post ....SORRY!!!!

Long, but well worth the read.:rotfl:

I truly am baffled by some of these mangers/ supervisors. They treat us like thieves or scammers......when all we are doing is trying to save some money or treat ourselves using a points system designed by Boots.
All rules and regulations are set by Boots.
    All vouchers printed by Boots.
All transactions occur within a Boots store or on their poor website and are tracked/ traced using the card given out by Boots.

I cannot understand that given the above, how utilising their own set offers warrants the reaction some of us have received from Boots staff?????

I realise that these dragons are few and far between, and the majority of SA are lovely, helpful people, but people speak of not being brave enough to try offers/ vouchers and surely that is wrong.

SA by definition are there to help us, so fear no longer, go forth and Boots!!!!
