Hi jollyrosiemac :hello: welcome to the forum.0 -
Hi all
I wonder if anyone could give me a bit of advice?
I bought the new estee lauder perfume a couple of weeks ago to get the new GWP and I am really allergic to it. (can't take it back, didn't buy it in the UK)
Anyway.... due to the allergy, I have a red ring of spots around my neck and on my wrists. It looks awful, a bit like I have been strangled:eek:  .
Does anyone have any ideas what I can use to clear the reaction? I have tried the Elizabeth Arden 8 hour cream stuff (is this supposed to smell really medicated or did I get a bad tube?) and it doesn't seem to have made any difference.
Helllllp xx
I use EA 8 hour cream and though it does work for me, it is not as far as I know medicated in any way.
Depending on your rash you could try any of the following (in order of severity or the rash)
Using a daily moisturiser with added vitamin E and vitamin C and or aloe vera in which will help your skin recover- apply twice daily, wash twice daily.
Using a product to clean the area properly fitst (tea tree oil, witch hazel, tcp or if you can stand it, if not (if the skin is broken), savlon or sonething anticeptic which will essentially clean the area/s. Then when that has dried, add ontop either a Bees wax based products or a shea butter based product- keep it natural! it will help the skin to heal far better then stuff with petroleum jelly in them (eg vaseline)
Using a moistuiser with an active ingredience such as E45 or Euricin for skin problems (think its called E45 itch relief cream- even if your not itching, it can help, they also have a stronger one -and there are other brands also who sell cream with Hydrocortisone in them- these are good if there is alot of itching as they are slighly stronger then the itch cream).
Visit the pharmasist at boots and ask them for help- they can give you over the counter things.
Visit your doctor who can prescribe you stuff if its really bad0 -
I was also terrified of getting MRSA in hospital as my mum died of it after a heart op. I made sure everyone used the antibacterial handwash whenever they came near me. I even asked the doctor to use it as i never saw one use any from one patient to the next.
I just explained about my mum and they were ok about me being so paranoid.
I am so sorry to hear of your sad loss through your Mum getting MRSA - I can't think of words to say to you, except those of endless sympathy.
But I took all this stuff in when I went in for my BC op, together with a pile of disposable gloves. This isn't off topic, cos I did buy all the antibacterial stuff from Boots!
Nobody washed their hands before they approached me, and I wasn't a very popular bunny for insisting they did. Every time I went to the bathroom, I cleaned every part of it that I would come in contact with, with a/b wipes.
Now, whenever a friend is going into hospital, I make them up a goody bag of treats, and one of essentials.

I've read all of the postings, I checked on Hot Deals too
I've tried and tried, but sleep won't come, so what am I to do?
There seems to be no pattern, some nights the sleep I crave
Will come so fast, but other times, it seems to misbehave!
I've counted sheep - and goats and hens, and dogs and cats and rabbits
But nothing seems to help a bit, with my nocturnal habits
I count my blessings one by one, by then I'm wide awake
I wish that I could clone myself, cos I'd give me a shake!
So then I plan a Bootsing trip - with great anticipation
And working out the deals and points requires much concentration :j
But then I find it's all a waste, cos still it doesn't work
So then I look at other threads, and think, and read and lurk
I turn upon my left side, and shut my eyes so tight
It doesn't help, so then I think I'll turn upon the right! :undecided
At times, I do the ironing, and sometimes washing too
And then I try again to sleep, oh what am I to do?
I hear my husband snoring, I'm consumed with jealousy!
Now he's alright - he's slept all night - I wish it could be me!
I try a soothing milky drink - then settle in my bed
But then I have to visit, the bl**dy loo instead!
Then Darling Husband snores again - I know that he's alright
But I'm just contemplating Another Sleepless Night!
It's nearly three - Oh Woe Is Me! I need to be sedated
So please, dear friends, your tips would be so much appreciated. :wall:

Another insomniac here tonight.
£15 quid for the free gift? Never!
Surely no one would pay that...would they?
P.S Thanks for the poem, I have scanned every news site and bargain site to try and keep myself entertained until I finally fall asleep, so the poem was a welcome amusement!0 -
