As for the scent of the 8 hour cream, mine also smells really strongly. Someone mentioned the other day it had a lovely scent. I would never call that "lovely" it is really strong, but given its properties I don't mind. But I am also wondering it I got an old one... it did buy it in an online seller at a discount...

i love the smell of the 8 hour cream.....and the taste when i use it on my lips! Am i weird?

    Hi

Mrs Bluebear mentioned earlier on the refugees thread that the Dr Nick Lowe spot treatment is really good. You can get £5 off with the new voucher as well.

    HTH x

Great I got one of these today with a voucher and it was under a fiver so free!!! Will test it out and let you all know!!! Since using No 7 creams I've had loads of spots!!!!

I've having the same trouble with Time delay stuff (as I mentioned earlier quoting some collaborative investigation a few good months ago here on the thread : which seems to be the same as the N7 only with the scent added. Now that I mention it, someone also discovered that the expert scar serum (there was an offer at the moment) was quite similar to the TD and N7 serums). Especially during those special days!! I never had this problem before using the miracle serum and creams from boots. Will try the Dr Nick stuff. Thanks for the tips.

And thanks to those who confirmed that EA cream is weird looking. I imagined it would be since it was invested for use on horses, right? :D

Mimi - I was listening to a bit of the Sunday Surgery on radio one the other night and Dr Stuart said that your diet does not give you spots in repsonse to a question about chocolate causing spots.

I would suggest you try either the boots tea tree and witch hazel wand or else buy some sudacreme and dab/put a thin layer on the spot when you are going to bed, it helps as well.

    HTH

Hope your dad is doing well with his treatment.

I agree - I always use Witch Hazel on my spots, usually in the form of "Witch Doctor" gel, or the Tea Tree & Witch Hazel spot wand (both can be bought in Boots). It works for me. The spot wand even has one end for daytime and one end for night use

Oh, and try to keep your fingers away from your face as much as possible - you'll cause spots or make them worse otherwise.

Hi. Have you, (or anyone),tried to use the wrinklie with mens products?

I see no reason why it wouldn`t work with this, there are no gender exclusions on the voucher, (unlike the hair care), and it`s from the named range. There are a couple of others, (one Nivea and another L`Oreal), but this the cheapest.

I will try it tommorrow if nobody else has as I use L`Oreal and No7 daily.

Not been to any lately so nothing to report.

An SA tried it for me against 2 L'oreal sets last week unsucessfully - her suggestion not mine. A supervisor would not over ride it as it beeped, saying it was because the items were reduced and BOGOF. As a good price anyway & really pleased had found 2 of them, didn't push her, but quite right, nothing on the back specifically excluding the mens range, so might be worth a try.

    HTH someone
  • I had success with the S&G £2 off vouchers today.:)
The SA scanned my voucher, which, as we know, does not go through the till without putting up a fight.... and the till said no.
I said that a friend had used some (well lots of boots cyber friends...lol) the day before.
The SA said, 'it might be because you cannot use the voucher on minis',
but I pointed to the small print and said the only exclusion was for wipes.
I took a full sized product to the till to prove my point. After consulting the superviser,
the lovely SA scanned all my purchases one by one.

I used the vouchers on the following items:
Calm One Calm All® Bath Soak 75ml
Clean On Me® Body Wash 75ml
    Flake Away® Body Scrub 50ml
    Righteous Body Butter® 50ml

I was a bit naughty and asked if I could pick up a few more...as I had a few vouchers left and I am happy to say I was able to do so.
Thanks to the very helpful SA, I used all my vouchers and left the store,
    a very happy bunny..I mean... teddy.:j

    Hi all

I wonder if anyone could give me a bit of advice?

I bought the new estee lauder perfume a couple of weeks ago to get the new GWP and I am really allergic to it. (can't take it back, didn't buy it in the UK)

Anyway.... due to the allergy, I have a red ring of spots around my neck and on my wrists. It looks awful, a bit like I have been strangled:eek:  .

Does anyone have any ideas what I can use to clear the reaction? I have tried the Elizabeth Arden 8 hour cream stuff (is this supposed to smell really medicated or did I get a bad tube?) and it doesn't seem to have made any difference.

    Helllllp xx

I'm assuming it has a different barcode or other info on the back to uk ones? If that's the case, I'd do some Googling and find out who to complain to in the country where you bought it. They may give you a refund and pay shipping for the return, or some other compensation. It's worth sending an email or making a call (if you have Sky Talk or Vonage or something similar so that the call is free).

  • Hello
Been reading this thread since the new year and finally went on first bootsing shopping experience today. For the first time in as many years, put card into acm - wow! Loads of extra points, money off vouchers etc so printed them out and off I went to explore.

    SHOP 1
    J Frieda Conditioner Reduced 1.35
    J Frieda Shampoo Reduced 1.18
    Mitchum 2 for £3.50
    Total £6.53, Used £2.00 Hair Voucher=£4.03to pay

    SHOP 2
    Time Delay SPF15 £5.86
Total £5.86 used wrinkle so 86p to pay

    SHOP 3
    Gill Series Foam £1.95(ACM 100pts)
Boots Expert Baby Bath £1.95(ACM 50pts)
    2pack 40 den knee highs £2.50(ACM 150pts)
    No7 Dark Spot SPFf50 Reduced £5.15 (£5p&pACM)
Total £11.55, Used £5p&p so £6.55 to pay

Huge fuss at till as it beeped with p&p voucher. SA called supervisor who looked like an old fashioned schoolteacher, staring at me through the gap in her little glasses. She informs me that the voucher is only valid on skincare but I told her that my friend already used the voucher no problem, so she then makes her journey over to the No7 counter only to return 5 mins later to tell me in her sternest voice that she will honour it this time but I was not to come back and try it again...lol......oh I just walked out the store chuckling to myself as i couldn't believe my ears! She's obviously been working there a seriously long time as she probably believes it's her store..lol but i must admit, it was nice to feel like a naughty schoolgirl for 5 mins:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Anyway, hope i did okay today and just wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone's posts on here - i can feel an addiction coming my way.........:j
