I had a rare opportunity today to visit Boots without any small children in tow. So, I went on a mission. Won't bore you with my purchases, but used up my no7 vouchers, got gwp x3, and found lots of the lovely reductions that so many of you have posted over the last few days (THANK YOU!!!). I think I visited 3 x Boots (in Leeds area) and worked very hard to make the most of my purchases. As I drove home, I realised how tiring (but FUN!!!) bootsing is. It really is like having another part-time job. Came home, spent ages sorting out all my stash into piles of MINE, PRESENTS and ADDICTION (i.e. oops, bought these but will not use them so... sell on ebay). Wrote lists of presents, etc. etc. and then went to pick my children up. DH said, 'have you had a nice day off?', and I thought..... it didn't really feel like a day off, I'm exhausted!! Then tonight I read another of your posts, Sandra Scarlett (which always make me envious as your bootsing days sound like real fun), and consoled myself with the thought that if MrB is still going strong in about 30 years, I'll be able to enjoy bootsing fully as I can make bootsing into my full-time hobby!!!! Anyone else around my age (33) who would like to join me in 30 years for Bootsing once retired?
Oops, have really rambled on and there's nothing useful at all in my post. Very sorry. Erm..... (clutching at straws)... staff at Crown Point in Leeds have ALWAYS been very lovely and willing to try all vouchers (same with staff at Wheatley Hall Road in Doncaster.0 -
I get you ikkle...E.M. should not be offended as she contributes lots and sure S.S. was not pointing a finger at her, although I can see why E.M. got defensive as I know I would as it is always hard not to take things personally in this virtual world.
However...
I get frustrated and inwardly grown when you get the usual questions and can see that the answer is on the first post and or the answer can be found by using the search thread function.
But...
When the answer can not be found on the first post or easily found using the search thread function, I do not get frustrated.
There is laziness, but then there are people who work long hrs and have little time to read 50 pages of waffle when they have 20 uniforms to iron, lunch boxes to prepare, kids to bathe etc. Or maybe they want to sit and talk to hubby instead of posting waffle on the non waffle thread etc.
We should not jump on people either way, but should be friendly when the answer is not easily found etc.
Yes we should all say please and thank you...but firstly people tend to shortern posts for quickness on the web, secondly it is surely enough for the person to use the thanks button for a thank you, save clogging the thread?
Above all...it REALLY DOES NOT MATTER! It would be much better to suggest nicely they look on the first post, in a humourous 'oh no, not again!' way and not to do it in a whiny way.
MSE says...Pls be nice to all MoneySavers. There's no such thing as a stupid question, and even if you disagree courtesy helps...That includes all dumb ones, silly ones, lazy ones, busy ones etc :rotfl: :rotfl:0 -

we will be trying to find the glitches for the incontanance pants and the blue/purple rinses....lol:rotfl::rotfl:0 -
Well I don't think it's cheeky to ask for a list of cheap/free stuff at all! A list gets compiled nearly everytime, probably by someone who is close enough to a Boots to pop in and have a look! If I worked near one I'd do the same on my lunch break and put it on here. Its helpful to those who can only manage a Boots trip once in a while due to working full time and being a mother and not having a car!
If one did get put up, then I for one would thank their post, and possibly write a thank you post, but would not want to clog the thread up with chat which does not actually point out an offer or deal.
If you don't ask you don't get.I'm getting older, and lifes getting harder!:mad:0 -
