Right, tried winzip, no good as it only compresses it the same as XP which is from 95Mb to 89Mb.....

    This is crazy! :(

I just pop in now and then.... :)

    Thanks will try winzip :)

megaupload I think probably isnt going to work as it took 3hrs 45minutes to upload and the link I've sent to my Dad says he can download the file - what I really want is that he (and anyone else I want to see it) can go on and watch the video without having to download it.........
In order for someone to watch the movies they need to download them, unless you are thinking of streaming them. Your into a whole new ballgame if that is the case.

I don't believe there are currently any file sharing networks setup that would allow streaming therefore you would require your own webserver to do it.

94+Mb for each 2 minute file is huge, should be more like <10Mb each.
I would suggest you review the movie dimensions and check the bitrate of both the movie and sound. (I can't remember off-hand what 'accetable' rates are, but if you experiment a bit, you should find some lower settings that make little or no difference to your final production.)

And as mentioned before by others, use a file format with better compression rates - WMF, DivX, etc.

Instead of using WinZIP which compresses it into a ZIP archive which doesn't apply very good compression, try using TugZIP which can do lots of different compression formats - I use .TAR for my compression but there are lots on there to pick from.

This will compress the files into one smaller file, which should be significantly smaller than the ZIP archive you created. It is also, unlike WinZIP, free! :)

Oh, the link to TugZIP is http://www.tugzip.com/
