I saw this too and started the application process. On the second page it asks for amount of initial deposit for 2008/09 but I want to transfer in both current and prior year amounts, having already used up my 2008/09 subscription in my now defunct Icesave ISA. It won't accept zero and it won't accept an amount over £3,600. It appears that this form will be sent in the post for signature, so do people think it can just be amended when received?
Anybody tried this with an Icesave reinstatement certificate?0 -

I rang for my application form, because if you fill in the online form you still have to wait for the application form to be sent to you. I'm only transferring funds from a fixed rate ISA that matures next week, but it would appear that you can do what you want to because it says on their website "You may transfer Cash ISA investments from the current and previous tax years into the Fixed Rate ISA"
But if your current ISA and previous ISA are with different providers you'd probably need two of the "Portability" forms that you have to fill in and send to the respective current ISA providers, as you only get one with the application pack. Probably best to ring them to get another of these.0 -

I can recommend ringing them up, just done it myself and it was very quick and easy, now just gotta wait a week or so for the forms to come through. The website wasn't really geared up for transfers in but it does say in the faqs that they send out a transfer form with all application forms
This is getting addictive!

Did you ring 0845 number?0

I got bored waiting for a reponse so I just did lol.
They are sending me the application form 1st class fron Monday. With the ISA transfer form which I have to send to my old provider.... Now this is new... I always thought you filled in the form and sent it back to new provider who then send it off to old provider??0 -
I just saw this looks like something I am interested in - but I noticed it says postal only - can I view the balance etc. online though? (and just not do anything with it) - I also bank with Halifax which is part of the same group - can I ask stuff about the ISA in a Halifax branch? (btw thats where I want to transfer from)0

Not sure about whether or not you'd be able to view online. You wouldn't be able to ask Halifax questions regarding BM products, eventhough they're part of the same group.0 -
Just had a thought about this. My ISA is currently with egg and I'll be receiving my year's interest on 23rd April. I know I'll lose some interest during the transfer period but will I lose any of the interest I've built up up to now? Dumb question I know but I thought I'd check before filling out the forms

No and no.can I view the balance etc. online though? ... can I ask stuff about the ISA in a Halifax branch?
As it's a fixed rate that you cant add further funds into and which pays interest on maturity, there wouldn't be much to see online - the balance isn't going to to be changing!
Even if you have had other online BM accounts - this one wouldn't appear on the login.
You can phone them if you have any questions.0 -
Only if there are specific terms in the Terms and Conditions saying you will (e.g. a notice period, minimum term, etc)Mad_old_tory wrote: »will I lose any of the interest I've built up up to now?0
