hello all
i am really annyoed rite now , im currently claiming esa and dla high rate mobility and care and was suprised to recivce a letter regarding a back to work interview at the job center i thought o well maby they just want to help me try and find some work which i may be able to do which is a good thing,
neway 1st of all she asked about my illness and so on so i told her i was diagnosed with perthes disiese as a child and now im a adult im left with constant pain in my hip walking bending etc is extremely painfull etc
she then asked what work do you think you are capable of doing to which i replied i dont tink im capable of any kind of work rite now and she said in a arrogant i dont belive you voice " well what are you going to do to rectify that?" i was thinking !!!!!! there is nothing i can do i cant heal my self, i told her well there is nothing i can do the only option avalible to me is a hip replacement but as im so young if i have one now in 10 years i could need another its something ill have to consider but its not a easy dession to make. she just said well im sure there is somework you can do how about sitting down at a computer? i said i cant sit for short periods od time as my hip becomes stiff if im sat still and painfull its not only that it effects my daily activites getting out of bed in the morning and geting dressed to go to work is so painfull travling to work etc it all adds up its all well saying you can sit down at a pc all day but what about all the things inbetween that? its like they dont realise how it effects your daily activites.
she started asking me do i claim anyother benifits i told her dla she asked what rate i said high rate to which she replied is that for mobility i said no its for both, her face was a picture she said in a suprised voice high rate for both! oh ok then, ahhhh you dont understand how much she !!!!ed me off it was like she was saying i dont belive you your lying without having to say the exatct words this !!!!es me off so much as i feel i get this all the time as im still so young 23 and i look young for my age people think im completly fine and the dont belive me this !!!!es me off so much you wouldent belive. she also asked how did you get hear today i said by car she said do you drive yourself i said yes she said well if you can drive im sure you can do a driving job cheeky !!!!!! she then said isit a motobility car you have i said no its my own. is that evern any of her buisness if i have a motobility car or evern what rate dla i get.
neway shes told me shes booked me onto this pathways to works thing now that i have to attend omg this is just sttupid how can they expect me to keep doing all this travling im in no fit state to work why are they doing this to me
iv just had this interview so what the hell are the other interviews i need to attend????!!!

im all up for helping people with disabilitys back into work or helping them find some work they could actulay do i think that is a gr8 thing BUT making people with sever disabilitys feel like you are forcing them into work or pushing them into things they dont want to do is just wrong and dicracefull.0

It seems crazy that they are wasting time giving grief to people who can't work at a time when there are so many people who want to work and can't get a job. Their time would be better spent trying to help those who are able to work and want to do so. There aren't enough jobs to go around anyway.0

That's the whole point though - for years people who claimed Incapacity Benefit were never talked to about work - they eventually became so used to being on benefits that the thought of work scared them.It seems crazy that they are wasting time giving grief to people who can't work at a time when there are so many people who want to work and can't get a job. Their time would be better spent trying to help those who are able to work and want to do so. There aren't enough jobs to go around anyway.
On ESA you are going to be expected to work unless you qualify under special rules or are so ill you cant do anything.
This economic downturn is going to last a few years - if people on ESA arent confronted with this now then it will be all the harder in a few years. The sanctions regime on ESA isnt all that bad you know.0 -

exatcly, i also suffer with axiety and depression but as my axsity is so high i havent evern been brave enought to mention this to my doctor or evern on the dla claim my hip pain is enough im depressed ontop of that. i feel like im making a big deal over nothing here but to me its not. imo if they want to help then they can offer the help if you feel you dont need the help or dont want the help then that should be it.
can anyone tell me what theese other interviews are going to be for? i thought i explained to her 2day my condition and my capabilitys theese other interviews are at work directions. it wouldent have been so bad if she had been polite and just asked standard questions as i would have thought this is a waste of time but shes only doing her job so i dont mind but she was plain rude and was quizzing me like i was a liar which has made me so angry! id like to know what this other interview is going to be about all i know is i wont be taking an grief or be pushed into anything after this :mad:0 -

i thought i qualified under the special rules i cant take a single step without sever discomfat when i went to citizenz advice they told me that mobility side would give you enough points alone. i filled in the form that asked about how far you can walk yet im still been sent to theese interviews? is this rite?0 -

been more open? are you kidding? i literaly told her each and everyway it effects me i get high rate care i need care around the clock, you know nothing about my conditon i know it better than anyone and i know im unable to work so please dont try and make me feel like i did something wrong here.
there are days where i am in so much pain i canot get out of bed theres no way in hell i can bend to put my socks jeans or shoes on, i can be sitting down relativley comfatuble and 5 mins later i can be in excrusiating pain where i physicaly cannot move an inch this is just a tiny weeny bit of how it effects me i have thought long and hard manny times on which jobs i could do and in my current state working would just be silly i put my health 1st0 -

I'm all in favour of people who can work being taken off IB. But surely that should be decided by a Doctor.0 -

i second that! and the thing is people with real disabilitys are treated like we are able to work regardley of what we say, people think we exaggerate everything or love the benfit money too much. the people that do work all day everyday hate this and i can understand why but please dont judge us all as frauds :-(
has anyone got a link to the special rules? because im ceartain i qualify under them.0
