Hi there
If you want cheaper way to make a butterfly cake you can make a big round one, then instead of cutting it down the middle into 2 semi circles - cut an oblong out -so you end up with the oblong and 2 "D" shapes.... the oblong can be shaped to make the body and the curved edges of the "Ds" put against it to form the wings...
Some roly poly icing and plenty of decoration and you have a butterfly
hope that makes sense..if not PM me and I will try and make more sense :rotfl:-6 -8 -3 -1.5 -2.5 -3 -1.5-3.50 -

At this moment in time I have no idea what I am going to do, but reading through has helped enormously. She would love a disco party and I am thinking of clearing out our conservatory and trying to make it into a disco area, then just doing a standard tea party.
A kind friend has offered me her party cd's and a disco ball, so that is looking a possibility maybe for 5 or 6 little girls. I also thought about getting each of them to make something, haven't quite decided what.
Best of luck and I will continue to read with interest.
Glad it has helpd you too :T It is really hard sometimes when they have their heart set on something. We had a small tea party last year as my house was bigger, it went down a storm, I'm sure your little one will love it!0 -
Find a pound shop and get some craft kits for kids, Ethel Austins had some big packs reduced to £2.50 the other day.
Cut out some masks in butterfly shapes from white card, bit of elastic,so they sit with some cheap glue sticks and decorate them
I just put a thread on about cheap party bags to...managed 10 for £4.50
Don't be pesimistic or optimistic...if you are realistic you will never be disappointed

How old is she Tink?
Cheapest ever parties for DD2 that she really loved were, at 5, she had a few friends for a visit to the nature centre (free entry for kids, a few £ for adults) and a picnic. At 8yrs we went to a fairy based "event" at the library- stories and facepainting/making stuff- all free and then pizza hut buffet! (Half term though).0 -

She will be 6, think I have it nailed now. Was working out how to make a party bag out of paper last night but didn't get far :rotfl:0 -

It's just the lack of sleep we will all get, I'm a student and up to my neck in essays at the moment so really could do without a sleepless night! maybe when she is a little older I'll go down that route, they get so screamy and over-excited!0 -
Hi Tink just checking you got my email with attatchment?0
