about £50ish a week for 3 of us, I cook from scratch and we eat very little processed foods.

I buy what is on offer meat and fish wise and build up my menu from there to keep the costs down, sometimes will buy fishfingers for a treat as a change from fresh fish as son would really prefer fish fingers

Wordsfan totally had no wish to offend, I hope things do improve for you and any gradual change is great news. If you continue with Dettol can you buy it online in bulk to at least save money? Also, maybe even gradually dilute the Dettol with water over tme as you feel more comfortable. I guess for me I have no concept of the OCD condition, only saving money... and am mainly coming from the point of view that I'm pregnant so the less chemicals the better hence the tea tree which is so potent.

Am going to try to just pay the balance on our Egg card next week from shopping this month, then in May watch the spend much more carefully...

  • Usually spend around 90-100 quid a week for 4 sometimes 5 adults, that usually includes stuff for packed lunches, beer, general toiletries and cleaning products. I've spent 125 quid this week though as we bought food & charcoal for a BBQ and my parents are coming over for Sunday lunch. I do get 10% discount at Tesco though which helps a bit

Varies enormously can be as low as £30 and up to £2-300, depending on how many times I/we eat out.
  • OH and I budget about £50 a week to feed the two of us and buy any house products like toilet roll, kitchen paper, washing up liquid etc. Normally we spend £30-40 if it's just food or we have lots of stuff to use up.

Wow £700 a month is alot even with meat and veg etc - we'd prob spend £70 a week between us if we ate meat more than twice a week and increased fish to 3 times. That spend includes out hungry cat...

We are around £90 per week for a family of 5. That includes toiletries and cleaning products.

I remember just over a year ago it was around the £70 mark, hate things getting so expensive :(

I managed to spend £89 in Morrison's by meal planning but still had to buy milk/bread etc in the week tempting me to buy some ice creams & gateaux's somewhat boosting it slightly. :o

Know what you mean BCC - our best laid plans have gone to pot as OH mentioned bbq'ing some steak later with corn on the cob, plus salad... then I added M&M's, so he's gone off to get these now...
