ranges from £30 to over £100 depending on who is visiting. there are just three of us normally but if we entertain the budget goes up a lot.

2 adults and 3 children, we spend around £450 per month on groceries, which do not include toiletries, but do include washpowder, cleaning products and toilet rolls.

I spend between £5-£10 per week on food for me and my 3 year old son. Though I've now got £6 in my account to last until payday, having spent £20 on food last week, which was the first spend since the last week of March. And just under half a tank of petrol which fingers crossed will last the month or I won't be able to get to work anyway!
We might not eat well but at least we eat. I can't imagine having £300 a month to spend on food!

Surely not! a 4 pint milk is £1 at the very cheapest!!

When I was on my own with my daughter (up until she was the age of 3), I used to spend £25 per week on food, and that was over 10 yrs ago, and limiting what I bought, sticking to basics etc.. What sort of things can you get for less than £10 per week to feed 2!?

We spend around £300 on a monthly delivered shop and then about £30-40 on top ups during weeks 2/3/4 (ie not the first week when we get the big delivery), so that works out to about £100/week for two adults, three children (12/10/8), one dog and two cats (doesn't include the animals dried food though, only the cans so an extra £20/month for the dried stuff) - that includes toiletries and all cleaning stuff. We do grow some of our own fruit and veg, but not much as we don't have a lot of space. The two younger children don't have school meals, so this includes their lunches too, the eldest uses the school canteen most days, but then they are super cheap there!

how much do you spend on your weekly food shop?

Far too much it seems. My wife came back from the weekly shop at Tesco this afternoon. I had asked her to get 3 bottles of whisky to stock up the drinks cabinet, which she duly did ... examination of the bill reveals we were charged for 4 bottles! Seriously annoyed ... this is not small change.

We'll be going back tomorrow and god help them if they prove difficult!

RE the OCD the use of spray is a lot less than i used to use! I am receiving treatment already. I get it at tesco which currently have it for £2 but its normally around £3.

Excellent keep up the good work. It alone does cost you £10, so will be the reason your shopping is more expensive than others. Another incentive to help conquer your fear?

Can you tell us how please? I can't imagine how it can be so low. I know my partner and I could spend less than the £100/month that we do on us and the chinchillas but we couldn't get just our food down to £6/week (£26/month) for the both of us.
