  • Well, the bag of cartridges - turned out not to be cartridges :o ... I've obviously moved the them from that bag into something else - didnt come accross them during my clearing session yesterday (or the mini one this morning) - so will need specifically play hunt the cartridges, as I really want them earning me pennies !!

Done some worky bits this morning, so pleased with that - booked some more work in, and sent off the application forms I'd completed. Also did a bit more virtual job hunting, and found a couple to apply for. _party_

Didn't have a good night, couldnt sleep - seem to be suffering from a go slow today because of it  Need a jar of motivation :rotfl:

    Off back to me lists...

    G:A xx

I have some cartridges is there a link for selling them?

Good luck with the job hunting:beer: A virtual party is far cheaper on the pocket:D

If you find that jar of motivation-chuck some over to me i could do with a hefty dose of it.:rotfl:
Blackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?
Still lurking around with a hope of some salvation:cool:

Hiya BOB :hello: Thanks for dropping by :D
Errrm, I have got the details of the two companies I'm sending to ... but they're on a printed sheet ...... in with the cartridges  :o

Think one of them was inkcycle.co.uk - but if you google "ink cartridge recycling", you'll get loads of links. It's best to check a few of them out and compare prices, as pay rates for the same cartridge differ with each company (hence why I'm sending to two of them) :p

As for the jar of motivation .... I asked on one of the other threads for someone to pass me a jar,,, or give me a kick ..... Moneymabel was kind enough to reply ..... just my luck that I got the "kick" I'm more than happy to pass it on though if you'd like me to ... share n share alike n all that jazz :rotfl::rotfl:

Been a good day today, got a few more bookings in, and managed to pick up some M.Shops too - First ones I've had for months  So the diary's starting to look quite nice for the next couple of weeks or so (even if 3 of the days are for a course !)

Finished the "Spring" clean in the bathroom .... only another one or five to go :rotfl: (rooms in general that is, not bathrooms  )

Mr GA still driving me potty... he can't seem to understand that it's no good getting frustrated with things you can't do .... if you're not prepared to do the "work" to help yourself. (think I may need to pass on MM's "Kick" ;) )

Put another £2 coin in my jar today ... a little more into the pot for debt busting :p

Off for a bit to (try) n catch up with everyone else :p

  • Well it been warm n sunny today,

My new PAYG sim has arrived so need to sort that out tomorrow, no more contract payments to worry about, plus with the new 2nd sim (for inbound "business" calls ... and most outbound ones) which is on the Tesco deal thingy - buy X amount topup & get extra Y amount free I shouldnt need to buy too much credit :T

Did a Mshop this morning (which I picked up yesterday) which went well. Got a call from my new client, they've booked me for an ongoing project .... for the moment it's just a couple of hours work one day every two weeks ... but hey, a few more like that and I'll be ticking over quitIe nicely :p

When I arrived at the car park, went to fetch a ticket - and found £2.50 in change in the little rejected coins tray  no-one around that could've left it, so it's now gone in my PAD Jar :D Plus, with another £2 coin received today & the "loose change" from buying milk on the way home - that's £5.00 towards a debt payment :T

I'm just wondering how come I keep happily posting on other threads,,,, and seem woefully inept at keeping my diary moving  Think it's probably cos my day's activities dont seem to be anywhere near as interesting as everyone elses

Decided to take a leaf out of the FlyLady's book ... in line with my "baby steps" approach. I'm going to allocate 15 or 30 mins to tasks I want to do each day or occassionally one "area" ie a cupboard or something ... and if I get eager and overrun  then that's fine, but the hope is that at least I wont demotivate myself  This is going to start tomorrow.... just need to set myself 30mins tonight to do my task list for tomorrow :rotfl:

    Tonight I'm doing:

Get 2 wash loads on tonight (using cheap rate electric)
Shredding Batch to do (while watching TV)
Plan weekend / next weeks meals - do shopping list if needed.
Plan "bake batch" for the weekend, again do shop list if needed.
Create New files for all the new Batch / OS Receipies (and old favourites)
Intro section to also keep OS Household bits in one place

Off to catch up with some other threads

Well not done bad on tonights list... just missed the meal / bake plans ... but will finish them tomorrow. :o

Gonna try for an early bed / early rise ... been having a few restless / sleepless nights recently - not helped by one of the mutts deciding it wants to amble round the garden at some ridiculous wee hour of the morning

Want to get an early start, so I can prepare my list for the day & then get cracking on it.

It be a sunyshiney day here - hope I dont get distracted from the chores by it

Well in my bid to not get demotivated... last night I made a HUGGGGGGGGE list of things I want to get done broken into sections: Debt / Finances - House - Garden - Work / Business - Household - OtherM

I am going to (attempt to) tackle this the Flylady way - broken down into either 15 or 30 minute slots, & while doing this ... do a Flylady "fling" (but am starting at 10 items)

SO..... This morning's little lot is...

    1. [STRIKE](15 min) - Do remaining batch of shredding [/STRIKE]
    2. (30 min) - "Spring clean" Kitchen - 2 cupboards :o
    3. [STRIKE](15 min) - Change bedding - Duvet out to air[/STRIKE]
    4. [STRIKE](30 min) - Job search[/STRIKE]
    5. [STRIKE](30 min) - Business stuff[/STRIKE]
    6. [STRIKE](15 min) - Phone Calls[/STRIKE]
    7. [STRIKE](30 min) - "Spring clean" Bedroom - Surfaces / windows[/STRIKE]
    8. [STRIKE](30 min) - Sort paperwork - Batch one[/STRIKE]
    9. [STRIKE](30 min) - Work search[/STRIKE]
    10. (15 min) - Goal Planning - In Progress

    General things throughout day:
    1. [STRIKE]Hang out laundry loads[/STRIKE]
    2. Continue with Meal plan for rest of Aug & September - In Progress
    3. Tip run(s)

Have a good day all :D

  • Well it’s been over a year since I was last on the boards due to one thing or another, some things have sadly changed and some things sadly haven’t. However, despite all this there has recently been a glimmer of positive change. I’m not going to go into lots of details, as to a certain extent it’s really water under the bridge so to speak. However, in brief it goes something like this;

    The “Downs”
Debts increased due to unforeseen charges & interest being added to existing debts together with a couple of small new ones, big car repair bill, additional medical costs for Mr GA and a limited, low work options over this time. And we’re still struggling to get any financial aid.

Probate, still ongoing and still being challenged in re-financing due to outside circumstances.

Work for me - opportunities proved very challenging over the last 12 months, only a few Temp assignments and limited options on the MS front due to limited funds available for up front purchases etc, and limited suitable opportunities.

Yet another family member developed a critical illness, although they have now recovered from this thankfully, but it caused great distress in various ways during its duration.

Mr GA’s had further complications. Still no real improvement from the Stroke he suffered, and to add to this – he has now been diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes.

Lastly for me, I developed depression which finally deteriorated into a breakdown. At one point sufficiently bad that I nearly took the final opt out road.

    The “Ups”
Mr GA’s situation - Diabetes diagnoses now means that all his prescriptions are free of charge, saving us nearly £20 a month, just on the meds he was taking at the time. We also managed to get DLA, though we are now awaiting the renewal decision on it, I’m guessing they’re checking it out due to the changes from the Diabetes diagnosis.

Work for me - I recently started a good permanent PT PAYE job, and I’ve been re-booked for another contract on one of my Audit work accounts, but allows me the flexibility ATM to ferry Himself to various appointments.
This looks likely to increase in hours very quickly in the new year, but my new Boss is very supportive of my situation & Himself’s illness needs and has said that work options will be flexible.

    Moving On
So here I am, back to the drawing board once again, with the determination to focus on sorting everything out once and for all.

I shall be calculating a new SOA, and I’m already working on several plans of action to move me forward. I will update the relative posts as soon as I’ve drafted them. Meanwhile my original figures are still showing in my signature.

I’d like to say sorry, to those members who supported & followed me previously. I promise I will not let you or myself down this time.

  • Hey GA- glad to see you posting again, but so sorry to hear that things have got on top of you a bit. I think sometimes that we do get years like that and then come out of it the other side and fight on. Makes me glad i don't know the future, because i would stay firmly entrenched under the duvet. :)

    Take care- BOB X

  • Hi GA,

    Welcome back again.

Sorry to read of the negatives that have happened but glad that most of them have been sorted out.

    Congratulations on your job :D

  • I'm still needing to finalise my new SOA - I've got a couple of bits I'm awaiting updates on before I finish it, as I dont want to have to re-do it again for a while! ;)

However, regardless of the finished SOA, I have thought, plotted, planned, stirred and finally cooked up a plan ...... and it's a Doozie
I've updated Post #2, so that it can seen next to the new SOA when it's ready !

I've started off before with all good intentions, but seem to have fizzled out quite quickly, I think because I've complicated it too much in the past & put too much pressure on myself by wanting to do all the challenges and other things. :(

So this time we're taking the Simples route :rotfl:
Lots of different ideas & ways to make the money, but just a couple of Challenges that can help me focus & keep on track to reach my goals. I will also be raiding the old style boards for inspiration, tips n tricks to streamline other areas without breaking the piggybank ;)

I still have a couple of real life things overhanging, and these are also a priorty to deal with to allow me to move on.

I do hope some of you will join me (or Rejoin in some cases) on my travels.
