Hi GA. Don't drive yourself into the ground trying to complete things. Just do whatevery you feel is most important for you or try to get someone else to do the legwork. Personally I found having all bills on DD and standing order helps, a friend swears by home delivery from the supermarket.Find out who you are and do that on purpose (thanks to Owain Wyn Jones quoting Dolly Parton)0

Sorry I’ve not been around, it seems like forever ago since I was last here – (10th Feb !!) and it seems that the great scheme of life still hasn’t finished with me yet after all – so much to update on I don’t know where to start & just as I thought I was moving forward I find myself further back than square one.
Having got so much set up and on track towards sorting the back payments & debts etc… I’m pretty devastated. There are times that I feel like just giving it all up, I really don’t know how many more “challenges” I can cope with before I break. To be honest, I don’t have the energy to give an in depth account, so I’m just gonna summarise briefly.
It started with me losing my internet connection (part way through posting an update here),
Then I lost my PC, big time blue screen stuff, which is still out of action – (After a lot of other minor tech glitches, I’m now re-connected using an old laptop of dads that I found in the loft), alas a lot of the work I’d done including my accounts have been lost with it (I was in middle of doing a backup when the PC died). So I’m having to re-do them all.
I’ve also now lost the job I had, apparently due to a lack of confidence in my abilities. But I know they were looking to cut down costs & it was the end of my probation period – The position has not been re-advertised & I feel it was just a way to let me go & save themselves money. From a brief look at some of the other boards - it looks like I’ve not been the only casualty of companies doing things like that.
I’ve been applying for jobs, but without much success. I’ve had a couple of interviews, one didn’t work out & the other I’m still waiting to hear from (sometime this week I was told). It’s part-time as opposed to full time, but with the possibility of that being extended in the future.
If I do succeed with this one, I will still look at taking on another part time job – working on the premise that at least I’ll be “splitting the risk”. If not, then next stop is the Agencies for Temp work.
In the meantime, I’ve enrolled with Avon – though having just done my first “round” and not got much from it, I’m not too hopeful that my territory is going to be very productive. It’s not classed as “prime” – but I’ll give it my best shot and at this moment every little. I’m also looking into utilising some of the “freelance” websites to promote myself and again to try and secure some work.
Looking into doing a couple of Sales Agent Roles as another addition to my business plans – which I am still working towards. Despite finding it a huge challenge to focus on it while worrying about the lack of work & money at the moment, I am trying to use some of the time I’ve got now to do flyers and other things in order to try and get some work in.
As I lost everything on the PC, I’ve still got all the items I’d planned to sell, as I never got the chance to list on Ebay or put the adverts in Freeads. This needs to be a priority this week.
Plan on finishing sorting the two areas I want to use for “work” stuff this week. Then I must get on with doing samples & stock of my creative items, so I can do some Ebay listings on those together with visiting local shops & attractions for trade sales. Plus there’s several up-coming fairs / shows etc which I hope I can secure a stand for. I want to look into perhaps taking a market slot as well.
Need to get working on my websites. In these times, not having them up & running is detrimental to business. Actually, I’m sure I saw a thread earlier for self-employed working from home people – must go have a look, it may help with my motivation.
Once again I find myself in limbo – I have many plans, and I when I’m thinking clearly & positively I know that I can make it work. Thereby clearing my debts & moving forward to where I want to be. BUT, I can only do that if I’m “given the time” to do so, without losing everything I’ve worked so hard to achieve in the last few months.
I’m just so scared that creditors will view it as just “an excuse” and then pull the floor from under me. I worked so hard to regain balance & start paying off what I owe and now I'm in danger of losing what I've achieved. I don't know where to turn to now.~ On the Road to Making Dreams Happen ~

Well a disappointing day, the meeting I had didnt work out... they advertised for a trainee ... but what they were really doing was flogging a blooming course - if I'd known that up front, I wouldnt have wasted time & petrol going for a meeting. Not happy about their methods.
Got told of a another job this evening, so went to see if I could get some more info on it, only to be told there was no more information available on it and just to download a generic blank job form, fill it out stating the vacancy applied for & hand it in to the "front desk". Will do that in the morning, along with a couple of others that need forms downloaded.
Still no news about the other job I was interviewed for, waiting always seems so hard.
My area manager is popping in tomorrow to drop of some materials, wish I had better results to show so far.
Maybe tomorrow will be a better day.

I’ve not posted for a while, and I’m sorry to those who started out with me on my journey – for not keeping this thread more regluarly updated – but even I couldn’t face writing more “woe is me” comments, let alone boring you guys with it. I know it’s meant to be a diary …. And that includes the bad alongside the good …. But I’ve just been getting too much of the “bad” recently, to feel anything positive in retelling it.
So many of you making great progress in your bids for "freedom" ........ It's really good to read about your successes, despite feeling despondent and demoralised with my own progress and lack of moving forward.
My Avon’s been a little disappointing, it seems to have taken a lot more time & "effort" than it should really have done to get the sales - but I'm reasonably pleased with those at this stage. Think I need to do some better strategy planning to make it “work” ….. ie work smarter not harder as my Dad used to say.
Two of the contracts I went for a while ago, have been un-successful, though I had two more meetings yesterday - one of which seems promising (but I'm not banking on it).
Done some MS work this month, with a couple more booked in for May so far – (but one now has a question mark over it, so a wait n see joby)
Scratchies are coming along, but minor hiccup in that I didn’t realise my bank card had expired – without me having got a new one – so I cant “bank” that lot as the companies have just asked for the verification info … and of course … I no longer have the card as the cashpoint swalled it !
Not yet on JSA or anything, but I *think* come next week I will be able to go and sign on as it will have been six weeks (sure that’s what I read somewhere). Do they back date it to your last “working” dates, or is it from sign up date ?
Got an interview tomorrow, for some part-time casual PAYE work – not my first choice, but am not in a position to be chosey right now - it will pay the essentials thus keeping me afloat and hopefully giving me a little extra over which I will “invest” in moving forward. I’m also waiting to hear if I have been selected for interviews from a few other companies that I’ve applied to.
Nothing extra paid on the debts, and at this moment in time it’s looking like I’ll have another month now showing as “late” or unpaid, as I’ve had no proper income at all this month, and nothing left now from the last pay I got. I just hope that I can weather this latest hiccup without the creditors totally pulling the rug from under.
G0d it feels such a long long and very lonely road at the moment, find it hard at times to remain positive and focused even with a coaching background. Just have to keep going back to basics and taking very baby steps, one at a time. Well, time to go do more job-hunting…

Well, mixed bag today - think the phrase is "treading water", which is better than sinking so I'll live with that!
Had an email from one of the people I saw the other day, apparently they're needing to consider some issues which have cropped up and will now be looking to make a decision some time next week - after they've discussed things.
Went for the casual paye job interview today, and had a call this afternoon asking me to go in next week for an orientation session - not quite sure if that means I've got the job or not but have booked the session anyway, hopeful that it’s a “goer” as they’ve asked me to bring bank info and “proof of ID”
Having done a C of Addy for the bonds end of last month - I think I can safely now send them the cash in form. Not a huge amount but every little is needed atm, so that's on my list for tomorrow.
Placed my Avon order today, not as much as I’d hoped – but pleased with what sales I did get this brochure. Need to get a canvass batch out this week, so thats on list for tomorrow.
Been contacted by some new MS companies I applied to, asking me to do a test assignment – so will go do those tomorrow.
Also finally heard from other interview - alas, not chosen.
To do Tomorrow;
1) Send Cash In Form to NSI
2) Canvass B3 Territory
3) Register with more Temp Agencies
4) Do Test shops (x3)
5) B2 of Free-Ad listings
Baby baby steps….

I would like to say "THANK YOU" to all those who keep diaries, as you all inspire others to continue their own journeys (and for many - what feels like a lonely or impossible one) - Horace, PurpleR, BOB, PAP, MonkeyN, ISOM, Hypno, Dinah, Benben, Taxi, Piquant to name a few :rotfl: - I have many "subs" and you all keep me going in one way or another !!
It's really good continuing to read that so many of you are still making great in-roads into your debts !! I've really not been up to posting on threads recently but I have been keeping up with many of you.
Enough of the Roll Call
Well another week (ish) gone by.....and another mixed bag again – still "treading water” ...... The second set of two contracts I went for a - have come back as one un-successful, and the “promising” meeting decision was postponed till this week, and still waiting to hear – so I sent a short polite enquiry asking what stage they were at. Still on wait and see for now.
The “question mark” MS job had to be cancelled due to clashing with an appointment I’ve been waiting for from Hospital. But I’ve just picked up another one, closer and better fee so not so bad.
Scratchies still coming along nicely – but due to hiccup mentioned previously, cant be got at yet. Still……. will be a nice payout once it’s sorted !!
I’m also STILL waiting to hear if I have been selected for interviews from a few other companies that I’ve applied to. BUT ….. I had a call today from a more recent application and have an interview on Monday .. YAY!
Went for the casual paye job orientation session and...... it DID mean that I've got the job :j – luckily it shouldn’t effect my other applications as I can just say that I can only do weekend or evening shifts (I had told them I was looking for normal office work as well)
Been contacted by some more MS companies I applied to, stating I’ve been accepted – hoping this will mean the opportunity for more work.
Bonus though ..... A company I made a speculative enquiry to ageeeeeeeees ago contacted me offering some work :j - I now have 15 Assignments booked in for them during May.:eek: My first one was done today – and seemed to go very well, I’m quite pleased. I'm hoping that a good job on these ones, will lead to lots of regular work from them. Plus, I can then think about applying to other similar companies for work - with a recent track record under my belt hopefully improving my chances.
Tasks done from last list:
1) Send Cash In Form to NSI - Awating payment
2) Canvass B3 Territory Done and collected another order.
3) Register with more Temp Agencies – Still in progress
4) Do Test shops (x3) - 1 done & passed !!!! 2 pending
5) B2 of Free-Ad listings – Listed on Gumtree instead, but only a couple of items got interest and neither then turned up. Need to re-advertise next week.
Still Nothing extra paid on the debts, and at this moment in time it’s looking like I’ll have yet another month now showing as “late” or unpaid, as I’ve had no proper income at all tese last two months, and nothing left now from the last pay I got. Just praying that I can still weather this latest hiccup without the creditors totally pulling the rug from under.
This Weeks list...
1) 4 x Assignments
2) 2 x MS
3) 2 x 4hr Casual Shifts
4) Interview
5) Avon Drops (x2)
6) Job Hunt continues
7) Bank / Creditor pacification phone calls
8) More Ads for items for sale
9) Source more MS work etc
Thats about it for now....

Keep going GH, that's what i tell myself everyday. Keep putting one step in front of the other and it will lead to something.
Well done on the job front, it may not be what you want but at the end of the day it could lead to something better. Way to go with the mystery shopping too.Blackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?
Still lurking around with a hope of some salvation:cool:0
