  • Stayed here when they first opened on the launch weekend for a pound a night and it is a nicle little boutique hotel with small ish tiday rooms. We are hoping to get another room. Got 4 laptops ready to go here :D
  • Yep, it's a nice boutique hotel, but the actual area is a dive (it reminds me of East Berlin). If you don't know east London, I'd suggest getting a cab from one of the major tube stations, rather than wondering around Shoreditch (particularly after dark).

The only shop in the near vicinity is a small Costcutter across the road, so remember to nip into a M&S or Waitrose store located at Moorgate or Liverpool St. before venturing to the hotel.
  • Yes, but you do have the likes of Brick Lane and Spitalfieds on your doorstep which is a real bonus.
  • don't you know that the east end is the new west end? all the hip clubs and pubs are now over in the East cos they are cheaper rents.
We have stayed there and think it is a bargin. We even walked there one night all the way from the west end - took an hour but a great walk and we felt as safe as houses.
  • If you go on the site now it says all the rooms are sold out so I guess they're testing for later!
You laugh because I'm different - I laugh because you're all the same

From my experience last time just remember if you get a 'confirmation' screen up and it doesn't have a proper booking/confirmation number (mine was something like 00001!) you won't get a confirmation email and your booking won't have gone into the system!

That was back in the late 90s/early 00s. Hoxton isn't as hip as it used to be - it was at its hippest back during the start of the Brit Art era.

My above comments are not intended to put people off, but are directed at people who don't know the east-end, and are may be expecting a location similar to more well-known hotel locations. Shoreditch is one of the highest crime areas of London, and certainly for Hackney, and as an ex-Londoner, I'd personally say that anyone who doesn't know Shoreditch, shouldn't be walking around there alone after dark with a suitcase in tow, and would find it easier to pay £5-10 to catch a cab from a station.
  • anyone know what cards they take, i only have a meastro?
  • Rules for this time (as far as I'm aware they only take credit cards).
