BG have published a "how will this affect me" guide here if anybody wants to check out how the different tariffs will be affected

But as far as I can see they do not actually say by how much the online tariffs are reducing.
----
yes its not clear - they say that WS1 will be 10% cheaper than standard, and therefore will presumably drop by 10%. But the CE reductions are undefined - just CE6 on average £137pa less. My guess would be its less than 10%.
But for WS they say "Savings of at least £146"0 -
Lets hope this sparks others into action,we sure do need a reduction in this area of bills!Better to light a candle than to curse the darkness. :beer:0

Typical smug marketing speak - the reduction will "benefit 17 million customers". Would that would be the same 17 million who were NOT benefited last year?0

Put up prices by a large amount which then allows you to reduce them later by a smaller amount and appear to be doing a good thing for your customers and no doubt making huge profits in the process. Sounds a bit like petrol prices too.
I went for a fixed rate due to all the uncertainty last year but will pay the £35 charge to change if there are savings to be made.0 -
It really is curious that they are not stating by how much their online tariffs are going to be reduced by, don't you think? It can't be by 10% or more or surely they would have made it clear?Call me Carmine....
HAVE YOU SEEN QUENTIN'S CASHBACK CARD??0 -
10%, is that it? They went up 35% also what's happening with Electric?? They go up together surely they come down together.
Oh and another thing why can they put their prices up immediately but can't bring them down for a whole month!!!!0 -
Heres the Official BG Press Release.

I went on that british gas fixed until 2011 deal - does anyone know if the penalty for leaving this deal with british gas would outweigh the potential savings of this 10% discount announced?
I only went on it because the news at the time made me panic! :mad:0 -

Have a look at the prices. Have a look at your consumption. Do the sums. Remember, there's plenty of scope for prices to rise again over the next two years.0
