I'm trying to keep my thoughts objective and in proportion, as this is, afterall, only a Sale! And, I appreciate a Sale is not our divine right.
However, I can't help but feel I've been taken on a 'wild goose chase' & be totally & utterly p***** off with Boots.
It's not so much the fact that they've now pulled the online Sale, but the crazy way they've handled it.
Firstly, I have a suspicion that they never really intended to put the Sale back on fully and so why wait until NOW to tell us. All it needed was an apology note on the front page of the site, at the beginning of this fiasco & we could all have saved a shed-load of time messing about with screens, gone into stores much earlier & gotten some sleep!
Secondly, to now say it's because the Sale items are not in stock, and to have them very clearly in stock, but at full price - just adds insult to injury! Plus lacks any integrity and common-sense.
Thirdly, how come they haven't yet sussed that cometh the January Sale, the site will be very busy & it needs to be designed to cope with that, technically? I appreciate some Ebay Sellers are putting huge numbers of same product items in their baskets, but anyone with half a brain should have anticipated that - they could very easily limit the no. of same items per person. Their on-line Sales have been an escalating disaster since their inception - you can accept it in year 1 - but most organisations learn from that experience! Not Boots, though, it would seem!
Their Marketing/Management/Website teams responsible should be fired.
My sympathy for us as customers is surpassed only by my sympathy for their Customer Service operatives - what must they be going through?
Apologies for my rant :mad: - I just had to get it off my chest & hubby can't understand why I've been doing a 'Basil Faulty' - thrashing the computer with the branch of a tree, this morning!!!

I didn't realise Trading Standards were open on a Saturday. I will DEFINITELY be giving them a call on Monday and I urger everyone else to do the same. I'm a firm believer in standing up for my rights and I think we have a pretty good case for getting the prices put back down. Let's all do our best to try and make sure that Boots stop treating their loyal customers like this!
Okay rant over. I've worked in retail myself years ago and I'm pretty sure that had Boots just kept all the OOS items off the site until say the beginning of February then we wouldn't be feeling quite so !!!!ed off! I still would've been !!!!ed off but not quite so much0 -

I think though there is no guarantee as to what they have, and when they bring out a new tray of stuff there is a bit of a scrum to get it!
I don't know if the .com stuff will end up there though, I was told by cs this morning that the two are totaly different companies and what little stock is left will remain on .com and will probably sell eventually.
cs girl was trying to find my order, (Thurs 2pm) she is about 75% sure that I will get it!
She was just as frustrated as me, she'd had an order cancelled too, so they know how we feel.
edit - forgot - Beckton had loads of the country living hampers, updated on grabbits that they had them in this week as well.0 -
Dont despair! It is still worth a look around your local Boots if you know what should be 75% off.
I went into the Boots at Princess Alice Drive Birmingham supposedly for some aqueous cream but I had to look around the toys. I had wanted the blossom farm tummy time thing for my little boy and wondered if they had one in stock at 75% off. Unfortunately they didnt have it but I did spot a Blossom Farm cot night light which I took to the till and it was reduced by 75% off. It was with the normal priced stuff and had no price on the shelf edge label at all so worth a look around any stores just in case things have got mixed up.0 -
it was back online yesterday but kept crashing, a few folk managed to get thier orders in before the fiasco!
I am so confused, when I tried to place my order after finally getting my basket to show up and everything back to full price, I was told I could not order at sale prices, but could pay full price and have 75% returned to me in points .... I think not !
It just seems that everyone has a different experience, and boots CS are making it up as they go along. Still dissapointed that I didn't manage to get the things I would have liked, but more angry about the fact that it just seemed to be luck of the draw, no consistancy what so ever !0 -

I've just spoken to CS because my order is still showing as being processed. It's due to be delivered on Thursday but after reading all the posts I wasn't holding out much hope.
They've checked and told me that it's currently being packed and will arrive on Thursday. Hopefully there won't be any items out of stock by then and it won't be damaged because the couple of things ordered were for presents.
Still won't believe it until it arrives!
So if your order is still showing as 'being processed' there is some hope. I'll let you know if the dreaded email arrives

Mine arrived this morning, really pleased one box is damaged though and one item has gone through at half price and they have not deducted my discount code so I will call them shortly.
