Think you should have checked as the good swere put in before you left anyway

Absolutely, but I know there have been times I haven't checked my receipt against my shopping bag and I bet there are times you haven't too, so it seems a little unfair to criticise the OP for the heinous crime of only being human like the rest of us.

  • I'd write to the boss of the company, actually.

A polite letter to the top or near to it often works wonders. I had a £75 case of wine go missing on an order from M&S prior to this Christmas, got a refund easily enough but was dismayed at how the whole situation was handled, and a polite letter (posted, not emailed) to Sir Stuart Rose (exec chairman of M&S) got me a very nice apology letter and a £40 gift voucher.

I didn't ask for a refund nor expect one, I simply wrote and explained the failings with their system as I saw them and asked for re-assurance that these problems would be addressed. The reply from them did all that and more, and the voucher was an unexpected but welcome bonus.

My first reply after taking the matter further was to tell me to go back and try again, but this time ask to speak to the manager, which would be up to his/her discretion. i replied again saying what about my rights *the customer*
they even asked why i had not went sooner. i replied that i'm a full time carer, so chances to go places are quite slim.

You seem too have more of a cool head when it comes to things like this, while i'm just gung ho and charge in. :rotfl:

I probably should have, but after being stuck in a xmas rush inside Argos, you cant wait to escape the place.
