Argos Ripped Me Off

Hmmm. Sounds like a licence to rip Argos off to me...
could you explain what you mean by that please?
if you are thinking that i did get the item, then you are very wrong. i did not get the item which was in fact one of them finger skate board things. i did go into the shop to try and get them to give me the item, but they wouldn't, so i had to resort to taking it further.
tell me if you went into argos and payed x amount of money for a number of items, then later realised you were missing one, would you just say ah forget about it, or would you think hang on i payed for that, and am entitled to it?
you people on here are very rude to be honest, and make out like i was at fault or somthing. its their fault for not doing there job properly.0 -
I also guess they gave me the £50voucher cause they had cost me some time and money, making a wasted journey to Argos to be told i couldnt have the toy. i think anyone in my position would be a bit narked that you couldnt get something you had payed for, and belongs to you. my son had also asked for the toy, and he actually mentioned on xmas that santa hadnt gave him and finger boards.
so farewell you won't see me posting on this board anymore, some of you are so high and mighty. nobs0 -

what an idiot post, the OP had the original receipt on which the missing item was not signed off or marked as received, where's the con in that?
Tha manager of the store should have sorted this out 1st time around, now he has cost his company an extra 50quid,hopefully they'll take it out his wages and also give him a kick up the ar5e for not doing his job.0 -

Well to be fair, you didn't think throwing words like 'ripped off' around yourself was too 'high and mighty' over what turned out to be a simple mistake that Argos happily put right for you when you spoke to the right person. If you think the other reply (I love how you go on about 'you people' when it was only one person) was an attack on you then the worst they were was giving you your own words back.
I'll let you join your own dots from there about the implications of that.If you don't stand for something, you'll fall for anything0 -

Not at all. Feel free to disagree, but try to remain polite, ok?
Advertising the fact that Argos will give £50 in vouchers plus the item for something that would be very difficult to prove seems to be advertising a means to rip off Argos.
It was the original OP who used the term "rip off" in the first place.0 -
ok sorry for the word 'idiot'
the OP was not given the item, they had paid for it, they were given 50 compensation whihc would not have been necessary if the manager I did his job when the OP first went in.0 -

Ok maybe i went a bit to far with the whole "you people" bit, but i'm sure most on here would, if they were accused of scamming Argos.
And you cant say it was a simple mistake. it was a mistake that should not be happening at all. if they had of sorted the problem out, when i first went back, then yes you could consider it a simple mistake.
I'd really love to know what you would do if you were not given something, then on returning to the store, they refuse to deal with the issue. yeah i'd imagine you would be on here wouldn't you.

I'd write to the boss of the company, actually.
A polite letter to the top or near to it often works wonders. I had a £75 case of wine go missing on an order from M&S prior to this Christmas, got a refund easily enough but was dismayed at how the whole situation was handled, and a polite letter (posted, not emailed) to Sir Stuart Rose (exec chairman of M&S) got me a very nice apology letter and a £40 gift voucher.
I didn't ask for a refund nor expect one, I simply wrote and explained the failings with their system as I saw them and asked for re-assurance that these problems would be addressed. The reply from them did all that and more, and the voucher was an unexpected but welcome bonus. If you don't stand for something, you'll fall for anything0
