I thought I would check out the GreenElephant.co.uk site as the new site claims it was designed by them - thinking that I might be able to email them and see who their customer was, and also that it would be unusual for the {Removed by Forum team} to pay for something

The GreenElephant site is actually a CubeCart installation selling themes for CubeCart, but they give away a free one......which is the one that is used for ETElectronics store!!!

The smell gets worse.....

The "About us" page at www.etelectronicsstore.co.uk has never been cached by Google, so is brand new. Here is what this page says, it's straight out of "Only Fools and Horses":

ET Electronics Store has just been born, we are based in London. The company was just recently formed in early November 2008 by The Managing Director Tuncay Ganidagli. As a new and energetic company we will thrive to provide the the best service possible.

Our main objective here at ETES is to provide Electronical goods at low prices, we will do this buy contantly finding new and cheaper providers.

ETES was started to solve a problem that many consumers have, that is to find electrical goods and lower prices than the high street. We know that in order to find a SIM FREE mobile phone that will work with your current provider will cost you an arm and a leg, but here at ETES we will provide the newest mobile phones that will work with all providers at VERY LOW COST PRICES."

Oh dear oh dear; no telephone number, no London address, no company details, just legal@etelectronicsstore.co.uk

Electronical is my word of the day.
Sort of rhymes with diabolical.

I am just on my lunch break so thought I spend 5 minutes highlighting all the errors on {Removed by Forum team} "About us" page

ET Electronics Store has just been born/was just recently formed in early November 2008 - quite obvious contradiction
just recently - saying the same thing twice
the the - the
Our main objective here at ETES - without previously introducing ETES as the abbreviation to be used in future
Electronical goods - electrical or electronic goods
buy - by
contantly - constantly
The last paragraph is so badly constructed, it would take me a week to dissect.

Anyone for {Removed by Forum team} ?

Maybe one of us should attempt purchase, up until we get a contact. I'm for passing this on to the Police and TS.

Come on Dinah, I am sure you can see the similarities already, if your not 100% convinced, maybe if you poke it a little the ugly worm will stir.

Four scenarios:

1) It's GCsPCs re-born and fathered by {Removed by Forum team}. At least a third of the wording used is the same as the rubbish spouted on the original GCsPCs website.

2) It's the work of a raving lunatic who copied much of GCsPCs' material before the site was taken down and has no stock to sell anyway.

3) It's a website created by someone seeking to pass it off as somehow related to the {Removed by Forum team}, the title ET (Extra Terrestrial) being -- perhaps -- a not too clever reference to various jokes about {Removed by Forum team}World and the "what planet is he on?" comments that have appeared on this very thread.

4) It's a website created for an unknown purpose -- one of which might include getting people to publicly speculate what that purpose might be, and in doing so make certain comments, or advance certain conclusions, that might be said to demonstrate that there are indeed many out there whose interest in a certain individual is vengeful.

I've no idea which scenario applies.

All I know is that a criminal prosecution is pending where GCsPCs and the {Removed by Forum team} are concerned.

That being so, I wouldn't want to comment further, or explore further, any website which, by uncanny coincidence, appears to bear the hallmarks of GCsPCs and manifests itself at the precise moment that both the prosecution and the defence are busily rehearsing their strategies with regard to the ultimate fate of GCsPCs.

This morning I sent an email to legal@etelectronicsstroe.co.uk asking whether the site is run by the {Removed by Forum team} and referring them to the current discussion on this morning. Any legitmate firm would have been horrified by the connection and informed me accordingly. I have heard absolutely nothing!

Secondly, you have to ask yourself what the chances are that there is a website out there run by an altogether different individual that

1) publishes no contact details other than an email address just like the {Removed by Forum team}
2) uses the same "legal" prefix for the only contact email address
3) uses a "legal" prefix email address for customer queries whole unrelated to legal issues (such as ordering/customer service etc)
4) has the same bizarre/illegal terms and delivery modalities
5) uses an identical checkout process
6) uses the same store software
7) is written in the same appalling english
8) offers gift certificates with the same maximum value of £5,000
9) is registered by the same man in Southend on Sea
10) deliberately opts out of disclosing domain registration details

In fact, even if you assign a ridiculously high probability of 10% to every on of the 10 items, the chances of the site being run by someone unrelated is 0.00000001%, i.e. one in a hundred million
