Vista is fine I am using it now. If you have a reasonable spec pc and decent amount of ram 2gb+ its fine. Haven't had any issues with drivers but I do have fairly new peripherals0

they are going pretty fast, but why the reason for the 64bit, as my sons pc is running great with 8gbs of memory on the 32bit.
is that the reason cos alot of people believe vista 32 bit wont except more than 2gbs well thats wrong my sons pc is proof of this.
A 32bit operating system can only address 2^32=4294967296 bytes (4GB). With Physical Address Extension (PAE) enabled, the o/s can adjust what is reserved for system devices and the graphics card past the further than 4GB limit, where without it would be taken from the 4GB available which is why it's usual for a 32bit operating system with 4GB ram to only display between 3.25-3.5GB out of the 4GB. Regardless of how much memory is installed, it can not use more than 4GB.
Windows might display that there is 8GB installed, but unfortunately it cannot use all of this which is why there is the requirement to change to a 64bit operating system to do so.0 -
