Could you not get a wifi enabled phone and then access the internet for free off your wireless router or at a wifi hotspot? Obviously it won't work everywhere but it won't cost anything. Or is this not how wifi phones work?

E71 is pretty well rated - if you don't mind the look (wasn't too keen on the aesthetics myself) then go for it.

If you go for 3 as a network, there is a code to get a £20 accessories voucher when you order. Try speaking to their 'online chat' thing on their website and ask about it.

fwiw Compact IV (touch diamond) has been excellent so far for web browsing and checking emails etc.

    Storm or Pixon

T-Mobile care is better than Vodafone - who's call centres are ALL outsourced 3rd party contracts

I thought about Pixon but the guy in T-mobiles retentions said it is more for the camera than internet.
I was seriously thinking about Storm but after reading the reviews I have found that many people ar having problems with the screen which is a Touch and Click screen.

    Thanks about the suggestions.

You should go and check out the browsing really - personally I would stick to windows mobile, android, or other OSes where you can change the browser if you're not happy with it. IE stinks in comparison to opera mobile in my experience. The Pixon isnt a smartphone in that I dont think its easy to add apps (not sure what OS it is - maybe samsung OS of sorts?)

My suggestion would be a PAYG iPhone for £342.50 and use it on one of the Simplicity tariffs. Eg Simplicity 10 for £9.79 + £7.34 for UNLIMITED web. This would give you 150 mins and 300 texts. You won't regret getting an iPhone.
